  • That's awesome! I didn't know you could download an LLM and run it locally! That's what I'm really interested in is something that's on my side and not a conduit to Google, MS or other.

I'm so glad Hawley proposed this bill or I wouldn't have known that deepseek was open source and downloadable! I'll have to go look for a download.

  • So from the conservative viewpoint, what is the rationale for the tariffs? Are people really supposed to believe it has something to do with fentanyl? Like do conservatives actually believe that or is there some other narrative besides Donald Trump is looking to flex his power?

  • We should propagate a conspiracy theory that when you vote the government collected your DNA so they can eventually clone a replacement citizen and replace you. They can sneaky confuse the system only if they never vote.

  • Welp

  • It's right out of Trump's playbook. You do something outrageous and evil, with just a smidgen of deniability.. it gets them attention. That's what they crave, to lead the news cycle, to be hated by the left but maintain enough deniability that the center and right will still be on your side. This is Trump 101.

  • I'm a little surprised that most countries don't have laws that make it a crime for non-citizens or people outside their country to influence elections. For any country, but the biggest and wealthiest, this seems like an obvious thing. Nobody wants their larger richer neighbor coming and interfering with their elections.

If you consider Twitter like a newspaper or other media outlet, then the owner of the media outlet using Twitter's megaphone should violate all sorts of laws. At least that would be my expectation......

  • Yes, that would be good, but let's be real here, this is basically a statement that says "hey big pharma, I'm not getting enough campaign contributions!! Get off your ass and give me some cash!" - Trump

This will NEVER get passed in a Trump administration. It's all window dressing on a big pile of streaming shit.

  • I get the anti Boomer sentiment, but the reality is many of them are very decent people.

My dad passed this year and now it's just my mom left. She has a net with of about 2M. I'm doing just fine myself, And she gets by on about 70k a year (half of that goes to rent). I keep telling her she should spend more money on things that make her happy, but she's good with what she has and doesn't feel she needs more. She doesn't want to travel and she has everything she needs.

Just because the boomer generation has left us with a dumpster fire, doesn't mean that there isn't a wide distribution of people within that age group. The truth is only a handful of us have the power to change anything and the rest of us are just trying to get by and get the most out of life that we can.

  • The original Iraq war coverage back in the 90's was all about glorifying the military industrial complex. Videos of smart bombs finding targets from 20,000 ft. Clean and neat. THAT'S glorifying out military and sanitizing our wars.

  • A protest has to have teeth. If the teeth are economic, then that's ok. If the teeth is violence, then that can be ok. Martin Luther King was successful in part because the threat of violence of Malcom X.

Protests do nothing if they can be ignored. If they can be ignored, they WILL be ignored.
