  • Others have stated how they're different already. To an end user the difference is that EndeavourOS is incredibly good, whereas Manjaro is a bit pants.

  • I would actually vomit, which as we all know, is the true sign of romance.

  • Mono does mean one, but that's not the legal definition of a monopoly.

  • Played a bit of Metro Exodus last night. One of the best games I've played in a while, even though the silence of your character is weird.

  • Thanks. That fills me with a lot more confidence. Trigger pulled on the monitor.

  • Cool, thank you. I'm going to give it a shot then :)

  • Thankfully I've not had that issue. It knows which is the main one and picks the right resolution even though one is 1440 and one 1200. Moving to 2x 1440 monitors should hopefully simplify things in that regard

  • I do my own sneaking these days. No need to hire someone to do a job you can easily do yourself.

  • Nowadays I see no reason not to use FLAC. I've not ripped anything less than 320 CBR mp3 for almost 20 years.

  • NAS for SAS drives

    Jump
  • An HBA with the SAS cables should run to about £50 used.

  • Started Metal Gear Solid V yesterday. Spent about 2.5 hrs on it but think I've only actually played 45mins of actual game play. Fuck me there's a lot of cut scenes.

  • 30 ft from landing in Boston from the UK in bad weather the pilot aborts the landing. Honestly thought we were all going to die, the plane was moving around so much and the run way starts just after the water. It seemed like we'd just hit the water or at least clip a boat. Ended up diverting and landing elsewhere where we sat on the plane for 5 hours waiting for the weather to clear. My stomach took another 5 hours to recover. 0/10 do not recommended.

  • I've switched to restic for my backups and have been very happy with it. Very fast, encrypted and snapshot history.

  • RAID gives you greater uptime. That is all. You should also have backups. So how much uptime do you need?

  • I'm going to assume I'll live another 45 years here.

My first electric Guitar should probably last and holds some sentimental value. My other guitars I can imagine selling at some point even though right now I like them.

Maybe some tools will last that are little more than solid pieces of metal. But how much use I'll have for them when I'm in my 80s i don't know, so maybe they move on before I do.

Kitchen table and coffee table are very solid and may out live my kids. But maybe we'll decide to swap to something else with a different style after 30 years, who knows.

That's all I can think of that has any chance of me keeping that long without breaking through standard use.

  • There are some strange answers here. Either there are a lot of very old people or people who should be on suicide watch given their suggestions of things that clearly won't last very long. I'm assuming a difference between things breaking and things being broken through misuse.

  • Come to Wales, it won't last 6 months. Whenever I see someone with an umbrella I can't help think they're new here
