  • OP never stated what country they're from, you've just gone on some rant about Trump without even thinking that they may not be from the US.

    Classic US defaultism.

  • You’re supposed to stop using the mouse while it is charging, and use the mouse unplugged.

Why? Says who? There's been a few times where I've booted my work laptop up in the morning and my mouse is dead and I've had to plug it in. Once it's charged I unplug it. What's the harm in that? I'd be way more furstrated if I had to open up my laptop (I keep it closed with an external monitor) and use the trackpad instead.

  • I get that, but it doesn't really make sense with a mouse as I pretty much never see the front of it as it's always ahead of me. The only person who would see it would be if someone were to be sat opposite.

  • This is clearly propaganda by Big Penis.

  • Take up running they said. It's free!*

  • Damn this absolutely hits home. He looks so peaceful. I'm jealous.

  • I still use my 6T and still love it, but hearing that it's the best you've owned doesn't fill me with confidence about an upgrade!

That said I don't think the camera is amazing, the photos from my wifes and friends iPhones look way better.

  • I think they're referring to actually having a cap.

    Also it's a 50% increase not 150%.

  • Yeah I realise that, that's why I thought about maybe the advertised salary might not necessarily be the truth and they do get decent compensation to reduce the chance of them getting compromised due to financial reasons.

  • A part of me thinks it's low on purpose so the only candidates that apply are doing it for ideological reasons, and aren't motivated by money (thus opening them up to risk of being bought by a foreign agency). Who knows, maybe it would be revealed their salary would quadruple after they get the job.

But the likelihood is that their budgets are low and can't compete with the private sector.

  • You didn't cross enough fingers! Although it worked out in the end.

  • Can't disagree, every nation has the right to defend itself.

  • For me feddit.uk stuck out as when I was joining Lemmy, (my initial choice was lemmy.world), it seemed like it would be a safe bet as it was clearly set up by UK based people that had also come from Reddit like myself, so it had a sense of familiarity. I'm guessing that's why the other feddit.

    <tld>

    also became somewhat popular instances.

  • We very nearly lost feddit.uk to the same issue. The admin who set the instance up just went AWOL, I'm guessing he spun it up during the reddit exodus and then just lost interest in the project. Fortunately people managed to contact him and gave two people admin access to take over it.

Lessons learned: don't join an instance with a single admin.

  • Wait, do other countries not do this? So if a public holiday falls on a Saturday it doesn't get pushed to Monday?

  • He definitely is. It's refreshing to finally even hear this sentiment from our government. However it's just words, hopefully we start seeing some positive changes in the rental and housing market.

  • That part of the country is famous for its coastal erosion going on for centuries, probably longer. Anyone that moved within 20 miles of that coastline in the past 70 years knows that their property has been at risk of falling into the sea.

I feel for him for losing his home but I'm not sure what the governments climate change policies have got to do with anything?

  • For some reason I thought this guy died years ago.

  • It was awesome. Especially paired with the msn messenger plus mod.

Near the end of its time and also when WiFi was taking off, I had friends with everyone in a uni house, but their WiFi was quite unreliable, so every hour or so I'd get 6 "person is online" pop up toasts appear simultaneously, stacked up on top of each other.
