  • I think they might be referring to the owners politics, specifically his very strong Leave campaign during the EU referendum. Could be wrong though.

  • Correct. Whilst he also gets the opportunity to enjoy some work-life balance himself:

When he left the company, he mentioned plans to “take a bit of time off, to travel, to spend more time with my family and friends,”

  • This guy's notorious for being a weapons grade prick. Absolutely not surprising he's saying stuff like this.

  • What posseses people to do this? It's absolutely disgusting.

It's not just an American thing by the way, I've heard shit like this happening here in the UK too. Especially in women's toilets.

  • You might also see or hear “mum’s the word” as a way to tell those other than yourself to keep quiet, but that’s a bit archaic these days.

I've heard the expression a few times but never actually understood what it meant! But yeah it's never used in everyday language.

  • Oh right - we'd normally say "kept schtum".

I was trying to work out what about her being a mum meant about her politics!

  • who has remained mum on her politics

    What does "remained mum" mean?

  • I can't imagine the engine being amazing when they start, but I hope they have the flexibility to improve the performance and reliability.

  • I absolutetly hate eating from the sofa, I don't know how people do it regularly.

  • We don't really have any serious earthquakes in Europe though. I believe the building codes in LA make it expensive and difficult to build with brick due to the dangers of brick buildings collapsing during earthquakes.

I'll be interesting how they desgin the city going forward though, surely they'll need to have some kind of fire-breaking defences in between suburbs.

  • You need to use tags on your resources if you want to get a better breakdown of what your more specific resources are costing you.

You can filter by tags in cost explorer.

  • The OS is riddled with ads

Is there a particular edition that's prone to this? I don't see any on my work or personal laptop. Either that or they're so subtle that I don't even see them.

  • ICBM launch control operator

  • Maybe it should show the number of calories you'd burn going up the stairs. It would be a small number, but it's better than 0.

  • Because people are idiots and like to press buttons.

  • He really should at least allow more people to maintain the app if he's struggling with time and motivation.

I get that this is probably just a tiny side gig for him but people have paid money, and he's also getting some ad money, so clear communication and some regular updates should be expected.

Even if his involvement is to just set a roadmap and prioritize features and fixes once a month and let others contribute, that would be something.

  • All fun and games until you open your camera app and it's in selfie mode, instantly catching the QR code and bricks your own phone.

  • This isn't unique to Tesla.

There was a case several years ago in the UK, dubbed The crossbow killer where the cars (Land Rover Discovery) telemetry was able to provide a picture of what was happening with the car, such as which door was open for and how long, as well as things like the vehicles location.

The article above goes into the particular details about each element of telemetry and how it was used to piece together a puzzle or evidence against the murder.

There's a podcast about the case called "The crossbow killer" by BBC Radio Wales that's worth a listen.
