  • You should report that as a bug. It doesn't do that for me. I use it exactly the same way. Maybe it's a time zone thing.

  • Oh, hey, it's the prolific Norwegian tagger at +23. Hi!

  • It should. As far as I understand it all calendars on Android use Android's calendar system in the background and are basically just frontends.

  • Maybe try a different calendar app. Fossify calendar is pretty good.

  • Toilets don't get their air from the sewers. There's actually an air hole at the top of the house to let air into the pipes so that they don't produce negative pressure.

Learned that from a plumbing guy who told me that it's actually a noob mistake diy guys often make to forget that hole.

  • My kids are so used to ad-free YouTube, they nag me when it breaks.

  • The funny thing about Clair Obscur is that because they made parrying "mandatory" people now focus on all-hit runs as the hard thing to do instead of no-hit runs. So they're proving that it is actually not mandatory and that the game is really a normal JRPG that is just a bit hard in the beginning.

  • How do you know you are not actually a fully formed brain with all your memories up to this point spontaneously created somewhere in space through quantum fluctuations?

  • Harambe wouldn't want you to rail on the kid.

  • There's a mini game in Spider-Man where you have to match up absorption lines to identify chemicals. That's relatively realistic.

  • Yeah, stupid communist European babies don't get a hat because of their inferior communist healthcare!

  • So you're saying you hate Expedition 33?

  • Strange. The quality should be about the best a cassette or aux cable could deliver. They are basically just two electromagnets controlled by the audiosignal.

They are so simple there isn't a lot to do badly.

  • So, people seem to have explained how the time dilation works.

    Now to the why:

We found out that the speed of light in a vacuum never changes. It is always the same. Usually in our everyday life speeds add up.

Let's say you have a cannon that shoots out a ball at 100 km/h. It would hit a wall at 100 km/h.
If you were now driving a car at 100 km/h and shot the ball out of that it would hit the wall at 200 km/h.

But the speed of light is different. If you had a light cannon to shoot some light at the wall it would hit at 1 c (the speed of light). But if you drove a car at 100 km/h and shot the cannon from there it would not hit the wall at 1c + 100 km/h. It would still be 1 c.

That's pretty strange and counter intuitive. Albert Einstein calculated the results of that. What must really be happening is that time slows down and space contracts slightly the faster you drive. So that in the end the speed of light stays the same.

We usually don't notice that effect at the speeds of your everday life. But we have satellites for GPS with atomic clocks in orbit where that effect becomes relevant. By now they are a few seconds out of sync with stationary earth clocks.

So GPS navigation proofs that time dilation is real.

  • Ugh, still not open source. The author of the original mod vanished shortly after announcing they would open source the mod, which basically stalled further development (like this) for years. Downloads are distributed via Discord. Only issue tracking is done via Github.

It probably doesn't work with Linux either because the original mod overwrote the same dll as dxvk does.

  • Didn't someone relatively recently have a prosthetic that needed a new battery that wasn't produced anymore?
