  • No! This is about the same shit Iseael is pulling. Hitting civilian targets is bad! Period!

Not condemning war crimes because you think it is somehow justified is exactly the same shit the Israel apologists are doing.

  • U.S.A. Land of the free water.

  • Most of those things cannot be collected through JavaScript.

    Local time can.

RAM can only be approximated to protect user privacy. Edit: And it's not available on Firefox.

OS+version are already in your browser's user-agent string that is sent out with every request you make.

Machine hardware cannot be enumerated. JavaScript can try to guess your GPU based on what it can do with WebGL.

There is no way to get a serial number or similar.

But if you go on to block some of the stuff you make yourself easier to identify. You go from "some guy with Windows" to that "that guy who blocks this and that and also that other thing".

I think it is much more effective to use Ublock Origin and let it do its thing.

  • Several months now. Maybe a year. Long Covid with ME/CFS has permanently tied me to my bed. I basically spend my time collecting energy to go number 2, which is the last thing I can stand up for. And only because using a bedpan looks about as strenuous as walking to the toilet. And that way my wife can change my bedsheets.

But not being able to shower is awful. I stink. And I have to watch parts where skin is rubbing on skin for infections. Zinc salve and a cotton scarf help.

  • Not for astrophysicists. They call basically everything a "metal". Of course they know it's wrong. But they keep doing it to annoy the chemists, I think.

  • Yeah, crossposts could get some love. Often a crosspost isn't even marked as a crosspost. And it would be nice to see from an original post where it was crossposted.

  • 🖐️

I don't use Mastodon beyond what my blog posts automatically. And I rarely make new blog posts anyways. I don't really see the point of microblogging beyond getting keeping up with news from different organisations. But I don't have the energy to keep up anyways, so I don't need it.

In terms of keeping in touch with my friends and family I only use Signal.

  • It was to keep the screensaver from coming on while watching a movie with your date, right?

  • One I miss the most is one I had on my Nokia N900. It would take a photo with both cameras, aquire the current GPS position and upload all those things to my server. Then it would check for a file on my server and if it existed would create an SSH tunnel, allowing me to SSH into the phone from my server.

It was supposed to be an anti theft measure. Never needed it. Was still cool that the phone had this possibility.

  • That's probably the new Extended Dynamic Range setting from Plasma 6.4. You can find it in the display settings. It is meant to adjust the display's brightness to emulate an HDR display.

  • It's turtles, all the way down.

  • Until I thought it was too edgy.

  • Funnily enough outside of the US (at least that was my impression as a German kid) Nickelodeon was first and foremost a company that made slime. You could buy that stuff here long before the TV channel made it over.

  • I dunno, it was pretty over the top back then already. Just lean into it, put him across some ultra feminist and let them both grow from it. Similar to Austin Powers. I think Civvie said something along those lines in his DN Forever video.

  • The European mind cannot comprehend this.

  • I cranked my laptop display's gamma up to 11 using an icc profile because it wasn't bright enough for me. Or rather all the shitty content is too dark to see anything.

  • Reminds me of the time I visited my grandma as a vacation. I brought my SNES including the Gameboy adapter. She loved Tetris even though she barely got past stage 1.

  • That's AI. I can tell by the tokens and from seeing many AIs in my days.

  • I just tested it and it seems to be fixed. But now the game view seems to shift half a screen up so that I can only see the lower half when I do gamepad input. This gets weirder and weirder.

Edit: Actually the screen issue seems to be due to something else. I have it with Proton 9 as well and had just done a system update.
