  • I've had two memorable dreams about being a different race. (I'm native, brown skinned)

When I was a kid I dreamed I was a white guy in Miami wearing a white suit driving a red convertible with a beautiful woman next to me and then at the end of the dream I put $50,000 under my bed because I needed it for a business transaction the next day and when I woke up in real life the first thing I did was look under my bed for the money and it wasn't there.

The second time I dreamed I was a black military guy wearing one of those olive green t-shirts and I went into a convenience store that got robbed while I was in it and I tried to react but the robber stabbed me in the stomach and I collapsed into a shelf of chips and watched myself bleed out until I was just about to die and then I woke up.

  • I think he or somebody he loves is dying because United healthcare won't cover a life-saving operation or medicine.

  • My only concern is that I hope this doesn't become an Archduke Ferdinand for an American Civil War part 2.

  • There is no fixing the human condition. Maybe when the computers become sentient they'll not look too poorly on us.

I think we could be rehabilitated we just can't be in charge of the rehabilitation

  • Nobody actually has an answer to that because there is no answer to it.

The system is so broken that there is no longer a way to fix it.

Any processes that could be implemented that have the potential to fix the issues comes from a broken system.

These processes would then be administered by the broken system.

Therefore no matter how good the process is, it will end up broken.

You may say that I am a hopeless person.

You may say that I am wrong and there is obviously something that can be done that has not yet been done.

I would say you are right, but experience indicates that although the possibility of reform exists, the capacity of the system to reform itself would be administered by a broken system.

Therefore even reform will end up broken and fail.

There was a reason why Nero played the fiddle while Rome burned. I'm just out here handing out rosin .

  • I could see a certain amount of time in prison, like a decade.

Obviously this homicide was aggravated by the circumstance that the CEO was technically the administrator of.

Therefore I feel like the punishment should be somewhat lenient given that the CEO inadvertently escalated the situation resulting in his own demise.

Kind of like if somebody beats up your best friend and then you beat them up in retaliation, the punishment should be more lenient on you than it is on the original aggressor.

  • Every gender suffers always.

Suffrage in this context literally means the right to vote.

  • The same here but my heat pump sucks all of the moisture out of the air, so the number on the dial does not equal the comfort of the house.

I bought a humidification system and will install it soon and hopefully I'll be able to drop the number once there's a little bit more moisture to convey the heat to my body in the air.

  • They've already said they would shut down operations in America rather than sell.

  • Sucks to suck. It's interesting and too much to include as a simple reply.

  • Clinical depression and student loans

  • My hot take is that there is no way in hell an entire planet of people could be armed with planet destroying weapons and not immediately go around blowing up other planets.

You're telling me that there's never been a single rogue captain in Starfleets history that has just not started unloading photon torpedoes and plasma blasters and all kinds of crazy shit on a random planet just to see what the fuck happened?

Think of the mining potentials if nothing else? You can just sift through the wreckage rather than digging.

    Wake up sheeple

  • Search engines are your friend. The information is out there Wikipedia has a lot of it.

  • He was also known as Llew Silverhand.

  • Every time somebody mentions Firefly I automatically think of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Bruce Campbell in a steampunk cowboy romp across the old west?

That show ended way too soon.

  • Surge soda. They bring it back every once in a while but the demand isn't there.

  • Luke Skywalker's story is a retelling of Nuada Airgetlám, the first king of the Tuatha de Dannan, in a sci-fi fantasy setting.

Because there is a cultural Zeitgeist about this even if it is not well known, it had a better well of mythology to pull from and therefore it had more impact than the sequels and prequels which were repulled from the saga of Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy.

I think the lack of depth for all of the movies since the original trilogy come from the fact that they do not tap into any other sources than their own source, leaving them all feeling hollow and sterile compared to the original.

  • Oh that is true but most of them have systems where you can attach tubes to the inputs and outputs and with enough redneck engineering (which is my upcoming plan once I finish a few other jobs) you can rig up a system to optionally either vent the cooled air outside or with a damper switch have it blow into the air intake of my AC system.

This is easier for me since my water heater is right next to the air intake for my HVAC system.

But, alternatively during the winter you have the option of switching over to traditional electric and even though that will negate the energy savings from the hybrid system it will prevent energy waste from cooling the air that you paid to heat.

  • It's not that expensive but it's also not inexpensive but I highly recommend that if you have to replace your hot water heater that you get a hybrid hot water heater, more so if you live in a warmer climate.

    It is a win-win.

One, it is more efficient at warming your water, saving you money and ultimately paying for itself over time.

Two, it takes the coldness out of your water and blows it into the air of your home, saving you money on cooling your home.

Three, it will dehumidify your air, making the sweltering summer months all the more pleasant.

It will cost you approximately $1,000 more than a standard electric water heater of the same size, but if you live anywhere south of the midpoint of Colorado, it will pay for itself in energy savings in less than half of its lifetime and the savings after that point will pay for its replacement when its time is up.

There are also variations on this that play ASCII Star wars and modified versions of the song that are terrible on purpose.

I set this as the admin login link to my docker system just in case somebody manages to infiltrate my network.
