  • Ahh, mints on a slower release cycle. I know a popular starter distro but I personally wouldn't recommend it for starters looking to game.

If you're ever open to trying again, Bazzite and Nobara are gaming focused and have a better nvidia experience out of the box.

  • Preparing myself for the world Titor predicted. Small communities.

Learning to homestead as best I can as a renter. Lots of raised beds and planter bags.

I only buy things to support my hobbies. Saving up for land and a prefab home so I can go completely independent.

I don't want to worry if critical food gets expensive again.

  • There is a network effect to popular games.
However as more people stop buying the network effect gets weaker.

Its happening visibly with the new Call of Duty. Many i know bought it and then stopped playing shortly after because much of their friends are waiting for sales now or just find the game bad.

Those people will be thinking twice before buying next year.

  • Same page as you. I found Obsidian but deferred to Logseq instead for two reasons:

    • Open source
    • The block editor

But seeing this post reaffirms I should find an alternative. They want collaborative features, etc. That roadmap is very different from what I was wanting out of a "second brain".

I have already been considering switching back to Obsidian and pairing it with Quartz for publishing.

AnyType seemed close as well, but it has a ton of features I wouldn't use and it's not clear to me how I could generate a website from it.

  • That wouldn't feel safe to me, I'd probably illegally use the sidewalk just to not get grey hairs for riding a bicycle.

That said, it does take time. I've started seeing people use bike lanes here after over a year of them being marked and barricaded
