  • They've also had to spend several cycles rearchitecting the codebase and reducing duplicated efforts.

Plasma 6's future seems very bright. Especially if they keep improving Breeze especially if they keep focusing on sane defaults and a simple unified and consistent style.

  • If that is the case I might jump ship haha.

There's a lot more gnome dev streams to learn from. Where as KDE blogs more but are not as technical in their blogs.

Id love technical content on both so I can learn how to contribute overtime by following their news.

  • Glad.im not alone in this.

I use Gnome on the laptop and KDE on the gaming computer.

But I also dock the laptop, and gnomes workflow is still amazingly intuitive with keyboard and mouse.

It also handles HiDPI better than anything else I've used even windows and Mac. Truly remarkable.

But I use KDE for gaming because I want vrr and can use HDR.

  • I've been predicting for a while though that siri will be turned into an AI that runs locally using the metal cores.

Especially after seeing the Rabbit R1, Google putting Tensor cores in the pixels, and hearing Apple preach about privacy.

That is a very astute observation stranger!

  • The total opposite doesn't really seem to have get the same attention either.

The one thing I really want to bring from gnome is the dynamic workspaces. I don't have to think about where and how to group applications I just take up space as I need to.

  • What I always found odd is that many people will try Android. And at the first problem they'll switch to iPhone.

However the iPhone may demonstrate the same exact problem, among many more, yet they just deal with it anyway.

  • It's great but they are two, reported, bugs that annoy me.

First, it sometimes gets stuck half way between dark and light mode.

Second, sometimes it gets stuck starting to load a page. The webciew gets stuck but not the chrome. If you switch tabs the same page will appear. If you enter a new page it will never load. A force close fixes it but it's annoying.

Using beta is imperative since it enables add-ons . However the bugs are also in stable.

  • This route does still count as a Windows sale and you still pay for the license.
So if the manufacturer offers a "no os" option, rather than any Linux option, it's still a better choice than "Windows" if you know you will reimage to something else anyway.
