  • That would be really cool. I'm not very familiar with MotoGP, but they have different curb/runoff/etc. requirements, right? Are there a lot of F1 races that meet requirement for both series? I know they already share some tracks on different weekends.

  • Honestly I expect the overall laptime to be about the same as current after a couple seasons. I'm just guessing too though.

They'll probably gain some speed in low/medium speed corners, and lose speed in high speed sections. Although additional active-aero will help some.

  • A lot of people don't realize a major objective of technical regulations is to intentionally slow the cars down and keep them below a particular speed.

  • Yeah, because putting the parents in jail will definitely ensure these kids turn out okay.

  • It works until it doesn't. Then we all face annihilation.

  • Do you have any sources to back this up? I'm genuinely curious.

On a surface level this is an interesting interpretation. However, agriculture predates Abrahamic religions in that part of the world by thousands of years. As far as I know agrarian societies (and the concept of land ownership) were already well established.

The story of Prometheus doesn't even predate the earliest forms of Genesis by very much.

  • Sainz is either going to Mercedes or Redbull. And my money is on Redbull.

Hate to say it, but hopefully they replace Ricciardo with Lawson at RB.

  • I think intentionally not preventing the attack is definitely plausible. I guess I should have been more clear--my comment was more aimed at accusations that Putin orchestrated the attack.

  • I don't get it either. The US has confirmed that IS was responsible.

People believe US Intelligence warned Russia of a terrorist attack, then disagree with US Intelligence after said attack happens? It makes no sense.

Hate Putin for the atrocities he's certainly responsible for. Spreading false information obfuscates what he's actually done.

  • Fallout 76. Granted, I played it almost a year after release.

I found it to be a very good game overall. Not as good as New Vegas or FO3, but I thought it was better than FO4.

  • Yes. The numbers in the report are based on real wages; i.e., inflation adjusted wages.

The report states the bottom 10% are still unable to make ends meet, but their wage growth has still significantly exceeded inflation.

  • Isn't this redundant? The UN Outer Space Treaty already prohibits all WMDs in space, and all major countries have signed on.

    States shall not place nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction in orbit or on celestial bodies or station them in outer space in any other manner;

  • It's an interesting correlation, but it's still based on self-reported data in an epidemiological study. What were those people eating? What was their activity level? What time of day were they eating? How did their overall calorie intake compare to non-IF diets?

I didn't read the original paper, just this linked article, but it doesn't sound like those factors were considered. There is definitely a lot more work needed to establish a causal relationship.

  • That's where the "definitely just a balloon, don't pay any attention" landed after the Chinese spy balloon was shot down about a year ago.

At least that's the first time I heard of Dead Horse.

  • These animals aren't dangerous until they are. In the wild, you don't know if you're encountering an injured or desperate animal. My main issue with OPs comment is the terrible advice on what to do when encounting one of these predators.

Also, how was the mountain lion population in the US doing until recently? Extermination of wild populations is a major reason why incidents in the past are so rare.

  • Wolves have been practically extinct in the US for many decades. That's a major reason why there are so few incidents. However, I agree that viewing adult humans as prey isn't "typical" wolf behavior.

Would a healthy wolf prefer to hunt a human over other prey? No. But we're talking about wild animals. If you encounter a wolf in the wild you don't know if it's hungry or sick, and the animal may absolutely treat you as prey.

  • Yeah this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Bears (brown, not so much black) and wolves don't see people as prey? Wrong. Humans just cross paths with them less frequently.

Humans may not be the prey of choice for bears and wolves. But that's the case for mountain lions too.

  • Well duh, of course he wouldn't jump out if he did think someone was coming. The issue is that he chose to ignore the team's signal.

That's definitely worthy of a penalty point.

  • I couldn't agree more. People who don't like fundamental differences in car performance would enjoy spec series much more than F1. F1 not being a spec series and still having this close of racing is pretty great.

  • What do you mean F1 now is like getting edged for an hour and a half? What specific era would you prefer going back to? Aside from RB the teams a much closer than recent history.

Battles don't necessarily have to be overtakes. Although there were great overtakes (or at least attempts) with Bearman, Albon, and Piastri. Piastri's long stint and the Kmag- Hulk strategy were also exciting.

And of course there is the overall closeness of the teams. Track to track there's no clear pecking order (excluding RB), even if within a particular weekend teams aren't necessarily close.
