It's always immigrant kids. Nobody should be surprised that the companies that are willing to illegally employ immigrants are also willing to violate other labor laws.

Allow these people (the adults, not kids) to become legally employed and this problem will be drastically reduced.

So ignore all non-significant results? What's to say those methods result in findings closer to the truth than the methods with no significant results.

The issue is that so many seemingly legitimate methods produce different findings with the same data.

9 of the teams reaching a different conclusion is a pretty large group. Nearly a third of the teams, using what I assume are legitimate methods, disagree with the findings of the other 20 teams.

Sure, not all teams disagree, but a lot do. So the issue is whether or not the current research paradigm correctly answers "subjective" questions such as these.

All the practical to automate physical/blue collar jobs have already been automated. Anyone who's job doesn't require interacting with the physical world is who's at risk for automation/AI nowadays.

I would image it's because the original trial was declared invalid (mis-trial). Not because he was found not guilty. Essentially no verdict has been reached, therefore double jeopardy isn't applicable.

The US tried that. It was called the Articles of Confederation. It didn't really work out.

I just wanted to bring up a big cultural difference I've seen in my area that people seem to be unaware of.

I'm not justifying it. I don't think it's justifiable. I just wanted to bring up how common this behavior is in some rural areas.

Just to reiterate, I'm not saying it's right. There are absolutely better ways of addressing these issues.

But I don't know what to tell you--I don't live far from SD and I have personally spoken to multiple people (face to face) that have done exactly what Kristi Noem described.

Not saying her actions are right, but I live in a rural area and people personally shooting their own dogs and other animals that are deemed a danger is pretty common. People often do it when the animals need to be euthanized for health reasons too.

I personally know lots of people who do this. I have plenty of family members who have done it.

Again, I don't think her actions were appropriate. I just want to point out how commonplace shooting ones own animals is (in some places) since a lot of people here seem totally unaware.

What do you consider to be memes? Just images/image macros? Gifs? Videos? Copy pastas? Do you dislike all of these, or just some?

Generically, I'd say memes are essentially just widespread "internet culture" inside jokes. Disliking humor or inside jokes is definitely not the norm.

I agree that Lance's time on the grid should come to an end, but what's wrong with the team aside from him?

They've done a great job at moving a midfield/backmarker team into being competitive for podiums. I'd much rather keep AM and add a new team.

I assume he would go to another F1 team?

I remember in his book he mentioned wanting to compete in the America's Cup, but I've also seen rumors recently that he is strongly opposed to being put on the Red Bull hyper car project and wants to stay in F1.
