  • I've been using Tartube for a few years, unsure of its subtitles capabilities, but it's really feature packed and it wouldn't surprise me if it can do you want.

  • And in 5yrs you'll have watch a fullscreen ad before you can reply to a message.

  • Can we please just have an app for our Android tablets?

  • What's the difference between never connecting your phone to a brand new high tech car and having no tech in an older car?

  • Australia, 7.8M Km², 26M people.

    France, 0.5M Km², 65M people.

You can't compare rural France and rural Australia, the cities sure, build your 15min cities anywhere the population density suits it, but it doesn't work in regional Australia.

  • If you replace "cities" with "rural towns" you might have a better understanding of why we still need cars in regional areas.

Australia is HUGE, the rural towns are far apart and have low populations.

    You can't run a bus/train every 10-20mins for 3 people, you run a bus/train ever 2hrs for 40 people, and they'll never change.

I'm all for accessible cities, for those that want to live in them, but you'll never get me away from my quiet rural life on the edge of regional centre. The reality is the transport in my town of 40,000 people has an insignificant impact on the environment compared Sydney, for example, with +5,000,000 people.

  • I'm not a smoker, but have a few friends that struggled to quit, the ones that succeeded went cold turkey with meds for the cravings.

    Go see your doctor!

  • He probably might have remade them.... Give me chills thinking about it

  • I'm in regional Australia, it's unrealistic to ever expect public transport to overtake private transport, we're too spread out.

I minimise my driving, but I couldn't survive without my own car, it's not a black and white issue.

  • Oh boy the reply-all-ers!

Can we swap quick reply for reply-all?

  • Well you're definitely right about remastering/digitising old film...

But if Star Wars was done on old DV, Lucas wouldn't have been able to digitally butcher it, so there's that.

  • The car thing is insane, even when you explain that you live in as regional area with limited options AND that I can drive to work in 20mins vs 60mins on public transport, you still get yelled at.

  • Definitely, forgot about that, calls do seem to go via the cars factory Bluetooth system. I can unplug my phone mid call and it jumps to the cars own call screen.

So phone number, duration and possibly caller/contact name would be known by the factory headunit and any other information Bluetooth shares with the connect device.

  • Probably a stupid question...

What about CarPlay and Android Auto? Is that being intercepted by the car manufacturer?

My basic understanding is Android Auto is pretty much an external monitor for your phone.

    Edit: speeling irrers

  • What is quality to you? The image size/resolution, the audio sample rate, the noise?

There's a point where the difference is imperceptible.

I think it's largely nostalgia behind replies like yours, analogue and digital are different, not a blanket better or worse.

  • I think I'm on the wrong website.

  • I reckon 3D animation, a movie animated in both the style and locations of BoTW would be pretty amazing.
