I think what you’re not understanding is the juice isn’t worth the squeeze trying to teach the old dog new tricks. Focus on the younger ones who are learning this the first time and more likely to be indoctrinated in this way of thinking.

I would say that conservatives are generally older folks. They spent their whole life learning things one way and then got to their mid to late life to only be told everything they learned was wrong or a lie. Now they don’t want to bother learning a new set of lies to only be told later on, that too was wrong. It can be done. It's not worth the work involved. You could firewall off the two proxmox instances from each other and your own network. Then allow VPN access into the environment. You'll have to allow the machines access to the Internet to get software updates. The moment you do that you're opening the door to them making an outbound tunnel to make services publicly accessible. Then you've got every bot on the internet scanning your services for vulnerabilities/exploits.
