  • He would have the vast majority of the nation's wealth on his side, due to the tax cuts and permissions to strip-mine the environment. Having half the nations capital on his side translates to like twelve people in total but as we all know, corporations are people (when convenient) and the worth of people is measured in $$$.

  • "Your delivery will arrive on a day between a point in time and a different point in time. You better be there when the driver pretends to check if someone's at home and leaves without ringing anyway - not like you have anything better to do you lazy fuck."

  • What does "7" even mean? I enjoyed every aspect of it precisely 70 percent? Seven out of ten criteria were perfect but the remaining three failed? I had seven great hours for every three terrible ones? Boiling down the experience of playing a game to a number is like giving someone your telephone number via the medium of interpretative dance.

  • Just wait and see: all it takes is for a judge to tell him not to do it - ten consecutive times, THEN threaten with actual consequences, and THEN you may or may not see him become more circumspect about his transgressions in order to skirt the legal line a tiny bit less obviously!

After all: everyone is equal before the law!*

*Unless you bought the highest judges and make them declare you an absolute ruler immune to criminal law.

  • The absolutely unthinkable: financial losses for the people who have been making money by covering up the fact that they are destroying the planet for their own profit.

Add in one of the best-financed propaganda/obfuscation campaigns maintained for seven decades and public opinion mirrors what it gets fed from big-oil-owned media outlets.

  • Oh, this system is definitely doing what it's designed to do, but "capitalism" nominally is this fair competition among equal players where the market decides which ideas and products rise to the top based on merit and whatnot. This would, however, require a level playing field which goes out of the window the moment the strongest player on the market uses their power not to provide the best products and services, but instead uses their power to solidify their top position by legal or illegal means or in ways they make legal by lobbying, bribing and otherwise convincing the legislative. The moment the biggest corporations secure themselves the cooperation of the political parties for one-sided tax cuts, bailouts, deregulation of limits and massive regulation in favour of the corporations' goals, that is the moment where we've left this impossible ideal of capitalism far behind.

But yes, the monopolies reigning from the corpse of the capitalist idea while telling you that capitalism is alive and well have worked hard to shape the status quo to what it is and they are definitely pretending that this abomination perfectly encapsulates the unreachable purity of the perfectly fair notion of "capitalism" every chance they get.
