  • I'm shocked no politicians talks about how we reduce CO2 emission by 1/3 in 10 years (or 7 years, actually).

I thought that was what was meant by "carbon neutral by 2050". Apparently, we will go from 100% in 2049 to 0% in 2050 /s

  • Never make a loan with the Chinese government. They intentionally bankrupt you to "borrow" your asset (in many cases, important sea ports) for 99 years. They update that contract every year to lend it fir the next 99 years. You effectively gave away your asset to China forever.

That's also what the occupiers of China did to China itself before the end of WW2 – seize Chinese ports indefinitely.

  • Yet, aren't they restricting redistribution of non-GPL parts?

I just trying to understand RH's argument here because so far it sounds like they are blatantly burning down GPL, and I don't think even RH would do that.

  • It was amusing to see Yuki be cautious this time, after the Mexico course-out. Just tried a little against Lewis and then backed down, anticipating he'll overtake him later easily. In Mexico he made that exact mistake. A beautiful rhyme.

  • Never forget: “Embrace, Extend, Extinguish”, even if it’s from a relatively liked company like Mozilla.

If you take that view, you will never be satisfied by the official motivation expressed by a non-profit organization. That's the reason you don't see why – you are refusing. But are you wrong? Only Mozilla knows.

  • I guess what that slide meant was not what the author thought.

Well, yes, Android is a "massive tracking device", but Google Search is not the culprit. Android apps were able to collect user data easily because they didn't have to ask for users' permission (and even today, by using an old Android API iirc).

So, no, I don't trust Apple, but that slide is probably irrelevant.

  • Nah, news organizations aren't internet echo chamber.

I mean, if they write dozens of opinions a day, news organizations labeled center-left or even left-leaning have to go to the other side sometimes. If not, they're just propaganda machines.
