  • The biggest threat now is AI from dictatorships. I thus believe that it is in everyone's interest to allow AI developments to utilize publicly available information, not ban it. For this, actually these evil bastards like MS and Google are a rather good selection.

  • If you sympathize with Nazi sympathizers, you're probably a Nazi sympathizer.

They'll say they just sympathize with Nazi sympathizer sympathizers. But then they are sympathizing with Nazi sympathizers. And so they are Nazi sympathizers.

  • Tips are definitely not the answer, but...

if a company cannot pay their employees a living wage without tips

Actually, where I live, we don't have a tip, but companies won't even if they can. The sad truth is that businesses won't without pressure. They just call it a social problem, weakness of their country, whatever.

    It's a false assumption.

Again, I believe tips are not the answer.

  • “they had no issue with someone disagreeing with their decisions, however comments that amount to personal insults are a breach of the International Sporting Code.”

I miss Reddit mods. The International Fediverse Code is breached here and there without consequences.

  • I know it's not the case, but I wish politicians could just place scientific facts and agree on political directions like allowing abortion.

Instead, politicians (have to, in a sense) bring in people with trauma and let them speak in front of their enemies, everybody knowing that even this won't convince Republican lawmakers. Even the people with trauma, exposed and risking bullying from the general public, know it's an astronomically long shot, and still re-live the trauma.

It's one of the saddest aspects of US Congress.
