My wife has one, I don't like to use it, it's too aggressive for me.
I can reach my back with my arms. To get the spot right between my shoulders I have to reach up and come down from the top with one arm, while using my other hand to grab my elbow and pull it to push my hand low enough to get it more effectively.
Yeah that seems quite disingenuous for a device that literally popularized a whole new platform for PC gaming, and has spearheaded the efforts of Windows games on Linux, to the point of actually outperforming native installations of many games.
That's good to know, thanks! I'm still just learning to touch type. I spent a few decades typing fast enough but always looking at the keys. This year I've started learning touch typing, I'm only a half dozen hours in, so still pretty new.
But when I get good I'll take this into consideration! Thanks!
Oh now this is different than I've heard, some others have had issues switching back and forth. So maybe I will give it a try, once I've got qwerty up to a decent speed and I feel comfortable with it.
Right now it's a problem because if I'm in a hurry, I'm tempted to type the old way, or a broken mixture of the two that messes with what I've learned. Not good. Gotta slow down and do it right, bah..
Thanks for the recommendations, I'm gonna put a 3d printed split board on my list of things I'll definitely get to some day and totally won't get pushed off the back of the furthest back burner lol
Honest question, does using a keyboard like this make you forget how to use a standard one?
I know op did it for the pain, so it's a moot point. But if I did it just because it's cool, and to avoid injury in the future, would I mess up my normal keyboard abilities?
Used to use a double edge razor from the 1960s, I still have it. Gillette Slim.
I just use a modern DE instead, 2015 I think. Feather AS-D2.
Both of them will probably outlast me. Especially the Feather, even though it's newer and therefore theoretically made with less care, it was made in Japan, and it's entirely stainless steel, not pot metal. Very strong. You'd need to run it over with a truck to break it.
If cared for, nothing is stopping the Gillette from going another 60 years either.
I've definitely pulled my hair out with docker too. Banged my head against the wall for a couple days before finally giving up.
I'm not ridiculously tech savvy, but I've tinkered with Linux since I was young, daily drive it on my laptop. I'm not afraid of the command line, and I'm smart enough to search for help and guides when I need it.
But something about docker just breaks my brain. Maybe I'm too old and there's too much abstract thought required, I don't know. But I can't figure it out.
It's an interesting trend these days, people wearing headphones and earbuds everywhere they go.
It's not my preference, and I get that it's a personal choice.
I agree there are definitely times where it makes sense, alone at the gym for example.
But I see groups of kids walking around, most of them with at least one or both headphones/earbuds on/in, and I'm like, what are you listening to? I can't imagine doing that.
But obviously some people like it, it's just not me 🤷♂️
But I don't expect the steam deck to be a super performance machine. And personally, I am not that affected by 30fps. Below 30 it does start to bother me, and above 30 is significantly smoother.
I'm currently playing through HFW, and I can average about 40, it drops to 30 at times, and occasionally dips below, but by and large I'm very happy with it.
