I view it as NK getting real world combat experience. It helps both countries out. This isn't good for multiple reasons.

Did you read the article? They're suggesting he has dementia/significantly decreased mental faculties. There were 2 medical emergencies, yes, but those were done and over with and he still chose to declare he wouldn't be taking questions after all and made his staff put on his favorite playlist for the rest of the "townhall." To me, that's the sign of someone who has broken down and just straight up isn't fit to lead anyone, let alone a country (his horrible policies aside).

So... why wouldn't he just continue afterwards, like what happens at any other public event that has isolated medical emergencies? Or even cancel/reschedule? Heh.

Yeah, this is such a silly move, lol. I mean, sure, SK wouldn't be able to use them. But, neither would your army... In a sense, you're admitting that if it came to a war, you're not strong enough to launch an offensive campaign and are preparing to immediately go on the defense. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, unless your government's propaganda is constantly talking up how glorious and powerful your leader and military are.

The death of local journalism is a tragedy. It's resulted in far less local accountability for city/county governments and businesses. There is no easy solution, though. I mean, there is, but getting everyone to give a shit and support local journalism is apparently not an easy endeavor.

That's one review from Steam Deck. Game just might too resource hungry and/or unoptimized for it at the moment. The user also didn't state what Proton version they used. I'm going to install it on my other Linux PC and report back later.

Edit: Works fine on my PC, running latest version of Nobara (Linux distro focused on gaming) and Nvidia drivers. I also used GE Proton 9.11 in Steam.

I had it auto-detect graphics quality (seemed to be about High settings) @ 1080p, and enabled Fur Shadows. I set DLSS to Balanced. Averaged 60-70FPS, dips down to 45ish when I entered an area with heavy rain. Played for about 15 minutes and entered the open world area after the intro. I was playing on my HTPC hooked up to an older spare TV, so I apologize for those that use 1440p or 4k since I cant test the performance at those resolutions.

My specs are:

-Ryzen 5700X

-RTX 3070 FE

-16GB DDR4 3200

-1TB nvme SSD

Edit 2: Played for another 30sh minutes, no issues. Performance did dip a bit in some open world areas, but I never saw it go below 45 FPS.

My quick review: The game has some interesting ideas, but the combat and presentation are pretty jank. Many of the early monsters just ram you like a goat, which launches you in the air and gravity is kind of floaty, so you can end up getting repeatedly tossed around. Their animations are very stiff, so sometimes it looks as though the monsters are just gliding at you versus running. The aesthetic/style of the world looks great, though. The giant tree/Ent thing stomping thru the forest was intense and surreal, I enjoyed trying to hide from it and failing.

The UI is not good, not awful. All of your important information is in the inside of your bow shaft, but it isn't presented in a clear and easily understood way. Not being able to easily tell how many arrows you have in the middle of combat is frustrating. I also think the wind direction should be easily referenced without needing to hold down a button, sort of how Ghost of Tsushima did it.

Lastly, and this is subjective, the music is not very heavy metal IMO. I was expecting something like Doom 2016, but with Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth, or even Slayer type heavy metal. Instead, it's more ambient and slower; not intense at all.

Eh? I have a Steam Deck and I rarely ever run into a game that performs badly or has issues. Proton and GE Proton have done amazing things for bringing mainstream gaming to Linux.

I mean, I think it does. A hurricane order expires shortly after the storm is over. It can take months for new shelter to be provided for those that lose their homes. Some people might prefer just to live out of their RV or a tent or whatever to save money while new living arrangements are figured out.

Oh for sure, I get that. But the NWS website is still meant for the public to use, and the old design layout was simpler and faster to read. Some folks might read graphs faster/as fast, but not for many of us. Regardless, another user pointed out you can click on the graph and it converts it all into an easy to read table format. :)

Yeah, I'd guess the average age is probably ~30-35+ years old. There are probably some younger kids that play, but I'd be surprised if they represented more than a marginal amount of the overall playerbase.

I only ever check my weather on NWS, but a year or two ago they went from having easily read hourly forecast data to those obnoxious graphs. I have zero clue why they did that.

You don't even need to do all of that. Simply teaching kids to be curious, critical, and not afraid of failure prepares them in a much more universal/general sense.

A lot of these people were probably told they were special growing up and "really smart," which unintentionally reinforces the idea that they naturally know things and their identity is tied to being smart/knowledgeable. So when anyone contradicts that identity--confronting them with facts that don't align with what they thought to be true--it feels like an existential threat to their ego.

It depends on the context for me. Repairing/replacing something on like my lawnmower or car? Video all the way. A simple CLI command/process? A quick write-up is often preferred for me.

I'm assuming they mean that Christians make up a huge percentage of the US, so therefore they probably make up a large percentage of criminals. I'd be interested if evangelical Christians now make up the majority of Christians.

You don't need to ask, as there are tons of well made videos giving great breakdowns of the most popular distros and the pros/cons of each while also showing demonstrations of a user session within them. To me, that's far more informative than a broad, generalized typed paragraph. However, I will concede that I'm more a visual, hands-on learner, so this is subjective.

And I agree, creating a boot disk is very simple and straightforward. The likelihood of GPT/Gemini getting it wrong is low. Especially Gemini/Copilot, as they basically just regurgitate the top tech site articles in this context and will cite the links it used (e.g. stack exchange, Tom's hardware, etc). But like I said above, it can still happen, so why not just look up the source material for something so simple? I doubt any time is really saved by using AI in this instance. Not to mention, if you're more of a visual person, it's nice to see someone else give a demonstration.

To each their own, though. Neither method is necessarily the wrong/better one.

When even real life is running out of original ideas and resorts to just rehashing old material.

Eh, just look up a reputable YouTube channel and guide. Chatbots can randomly make dumb mistakes that a total newbie won't recognize, potentially causing them a lot of headache.

And no, I'm not one of those diehard anti-AI people. My work has its own custom GPT model and I utilize it almost daily for menial tasks. But even having it generate script boilerplate and whatnot, I sometimes notice it writing stuff that won't work and/or does it in a really verbose/weird way.
