Yeah, I bought my 3090 used in 2022 for $600USD. It hasn't had a single issue yet. Knock on wood
People really shouldn't sleep on buying used. I know it can be risky, but if you do it through platforms that offer some amount of buyer protection for the first 30-90 days, I think the risk is greatly reduced. If your card doesn't die in that early window, the chances of it dying in the next year or so are pretty low.
My theory is that he's always known Tesla was massively overvalued and it was only a matter of time before the company's stock started correcting towards a more realistic value for the amount of profit it actually generates. As such, he needed to take drastic action(s) to find other gold mines for him to exploit to retain his wealth base.
No shit? Glad it's "official," I guess, but literally anyone left with basic arithmetic skills and common sense knew that gutting fed workers wasn't going to even remotely be enough to make up $2 trillion. So many analysts had said as much all summer long when DOGE started being floated.
Definitely keep watching. Larry David is definitely not a magtard and the show is hilarious. Also, in the later seasons, she only makes brief appearances. Hell, the last season has an entire multi-episode arc calling out and making fun of Georgia's voter suppression laws.
Lame. Discord has already been dipping their toes into the enshitification pond the last few years, so I imagine it's going to get worse as they move closer to going public and moreso afterwards.
There's a reason tons of major authors have come out against Amazon. I think Brandon Sanderson even went so far as to write books in secret and shadow drop them onto other book platforms, purposefully avoiding Amazon entirely. Also, Kindle Unlimited is an awful deal for authors, they get literal pennies for every reader.
This is so depressing. I know that politics is cyclical, eras of progressive politics are always followed by periods of conservative regression. But, this is such a whiplash response, I don't understand how so many people are being duped by this insanity around the world.
Oh I agree, I just think it shouldn't surprise anyone at this point. Anyone with two fucking braincells can see he is in bed with Russia and most assuredly does not have the US or our allies' interests at heart. He's literally sold the entire government to the highest bidder who is actively destroying the entire system without a single shot being fired.
There's pros and cons to both systems. With so many positions being elected, it is supposed to make it more difficult for unilateral, systemic corruption to take root. In theory, anyway. But, hardly anyone pays attention to local politics and local journalism is virtually dead in all but larger metro areas nowadays. As such, propaganda is much easier to spread and corruption goes unnoticed in all but the most egregious scenarios in many smaller areas.
I highly doubt that it was the same judge and prosecutor after 30 years, so the present day judiciary personnel involved having personal stakes in the case seems unlikely. But I don't disagree that certain bloodthirsty prosecutors and/or judges likely hate admitting the system is deeply flawed when it comes to convicting innocents they've already deemed criminals.
StumbleUpon started out being completely random, so it wasn't driven by mining your cookies and feeding the data into an algorithm. I don't know if it eventually became a nefarious advertising front, but I recall it being pretty innocent. Anyway, I really enjoyed that website before link aggregators rose to such dominance.
Well, he did just take over the Federal Elections Commission and every red state has pledged undying loyalty to him... so... yeah... not sure how great our elections are going to be in the future.
Yeah, I legitimately don't understand it. I used to like his show back around 2016-2017sh time frame. Back then, he usually just had well known comedians on and shot the shit and it was funny. Hell, he'd even have cool scientists on discussing new research they were doing that he found interesting. He'd have the occasional fringe topic, e.g. UFOs, conspiracies, etc., but it was always done in an entertaining way and wasn't overly political.
I don't know what the hell happened, but around 2019/2020 he just went way to the far right and became a giant piece of shit. I haven't listened to his garbage show in years.
Ah, gotcha. I haven't been looking for GPUs for a few years now, so I was low-key excited that there was actually a deal that good.
But yeah, I agree that the last couple gens of flagship GPUs are vastly overkill for 95% of games.
