  • I don't give a shit about the Russian state. I'm not a tankie, I don't care about random petty disputes between empires and whoever pissed them off. Let the unrelated people collaborate on the things that represent the end of such empires in peace.

  • Yes, it's a petty dispute. The US has done the same every 3-6 years for the last 200. It's a common occurrence for empires to do whatever they want. It has nothing to do with random citizens contributing to volunteer projects based in entirely disconnected countries.

  • Individual random people are not mentioned in the sanctions and have little to nothing to do with the state, just like the US. The foundation kicking out US maintainers during the Iraq war when the US was indiscriminately killing over a million Iraqi civilians would have been equally ridiculous.

So no, they don't and shouldn't have assumed this is due to sanctions. It's free software they volunteering to help. There is no profit motive. They are not state actors. And most importantly to you,not all Russians are bad evil whatever slur you want to call them, you racist.

  • There are no sanctions against these individuals. More importantly who gives a shit about what the US is whining about today or tomorrow, foss software is more important than whatever petty dispute the US egged on this time.

  • We have an entire carrier group dedicated to the defense of Israel at the moment, and Israel already has nukes. There is no more the US can give except dumb kids from poor areas that just wanted to not have to join a gang.

  • I'm sorry, child, I'm not voting for genocide. That is humanity's red line. If you want to be the same as a Nazi and gleefully or even sorrowfully vote for genocide, that's on you. History treats the Nazis that voted out of fear the same as those that voted out of pride.

  • You help those by participating in mutual aid, hiding enemies of the state, and ensuring local community. That's the same regardless of who's in power, ever. That never changes.

But if you vote for genocide, you vote for genocide. You help no one.

  • Brothership? Are they intentionally playing into incest fan fic? Are those the only Mario fans left? Is Luigi really a bottom in their brothership? Can parents see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch™©®?

  • There is no being better or worse at actively economically and militarily supporting an internationally recognized genocide.

And genocide is a single issue, but if anything is the single issue that should get you to drop support, it's that.

Sorry I'm not ever voting for genocide. There is not a single thing that can or ever will justify it. There is nothing the other side can do to make your participation in genocide less evil.
