  • I think it's less about "proofing" your life and instead embracing it. Seek it out. All good opportunities (your dream job, the girl you want) require you to take risks with a real chance of rejection. Get good at being rejected, even enjoy it, so that you can persevere and try and try again until you get what you want.

  • Relax dude. You let the baby out with the bathwater. What are you trying to accomplish, you really think I'm going to change my mind and NOT think you're some nutjob with these walls of text? You do you.

Also, you haven't changed my mind. I still think that other cultures are equally bad if not worse. I could provide examples and explain it, but it's not like you'd listen anyway.

  • You try so hard to sound smarter than you really are. Also, you don't think that what's happening in China, N.K and Ukraine isn't worse than what's happening in the west? Lol. The West are no angels, but you seem to have a personal vendetta.

And you are projecting. You are spouting the exact shame rhetoric, just from a different perspective. Extremist, media-inspired dribble.

  • I think calling the west a fanatical death cult is a bit romantic. Let's not pretend that much of the rest of the world isn't the same but has historically just lacked the means to do it at the scale the west has.

And nobody is regurgitating western propoganda, we're talking about the protests in Iran and you start spouting this shit. Way to project.

  • I have two trains of thought on this. The first is naturally occuring vs man made. Stones are naturally occuring, bricks are not. While we as a species have always made shelter, there is something "unnatural" about modern homes with glass windows, running water, steel beams etc.

The second is natural vs synthetic. GMO'd food, hydrocarbons etc. I think the biggest difference to me regarding this is around how long we've been exposed to the substances. We've been exposed to certain foods and chemicals (from plants etc) for 100,000s of years and so our bodies handle them well. Our bodies haven't adapted to things like polymers, microplastics or high fructose corn syrup, which is why these "unnatural" chemicals are considered bad.

  • It's hard when you hit an endpoint that hits another endpoint, because technically the first request IS a 200. No right or wrong way as long as they are consistent and document it clearly imo

  • This is why I write down the questions I'm trying to answer in a text doc, e.g:

Where is this network call comming from? ../some-api-call.js Why do you think it's causing a 403?

    • I am authenticating correctly
    • the object seems to exist in s3
    • the bucket name is wrong

Etc. So if I lose my thought (all the time), I know exactly what and why I was doing it. Also stops you from re-investigating things you forget
