  • I dig these vibes so much

  • makes me proud to be a lemming

  • Yeah that looks like a no for me holmes. The ai features don't tickle my pickle and while it's still probably the best camera out there I crave that battery life more. MKBHD already dropped his initial reviews as well for what that's worth.

  • Got my new phone budget two weeks ago and I've been waiting to see if the new pixel was worth it or if I should just buy a oneplus 12. The camera on the oneplus's are never as good but all the other pixel features seem so meh usually. Especially that battery life, why can't they just stick a bigger battery in these things.

  • I will happily take this opportunity to complain

/startrant that the abandonment of couch co-op is the worst thing to ever happen to gaming. There are some great couch co-op games out there, BUT NOT NEARLY ENOUGH. Seriously, the number of goddamn games that expect you to HAVE TWO COMPUTER AND TWO SCREENS SO YOU CAN PLAY CO-OP WITH SOMEONE ELSE IS TOO DAMN HIGH. /endrant

I highly recommend Broforce, any of the Larian studio games (Divinity Original Sin, Baldur's Gate 3 etc..), Battleblock Theater, Castle Crashers, Cuphead, For The King, Hypercharge Unboxed, It Takes Two, Portal 2, Overcooked, SpiritFarer, Stardew Valley, Untitled Goose Game, Wobbly Life. Wish there were more.

It is the damndest shame that the Halo Master Chief Collection doesn't have local co-op, still upsets me to this day.

  • I work in this field and I think this is šŸ”„ af

  • Gah, haven't had to think about my tmux conf in like 5 years but here we go. This was quite the writeup, thanks for looking!

You appear to be exactly right about set -sg escape-time 0. I don't think it's ever caused me an issue but I am fortunate to have a very homogeneous environment and it looks like the tmux team circumvented me anyway. As of tmux 3.4:

If escape-time is 0, force to 1 instead

    and related discussion: https://github.com/wez/wezterm/issues/2060#issuecomment-1143775552

The only time I've been bit by the TERM value from tmux-sensible is when logging into junos boxes. In which case I need to export TERM=xterm-256color or arrow keys don't work (among other things). Per the docs:

    https://github.com/tmux/tmux/wiki/FAQ#why-do-you-use-the-screen-terminal-description-inside-tmux

I might try tmux-256color for a bit and see how it goes.

Anyway, appreciate the breakdown and the suggestions!

  • your pipe-pane command was real neat, I appreciate you sharing!

I get frustrated with the default ESC delay so I use set -sg escape-time 0

I re-bind the bind-keys without the default -r to avoid switching panes, hitting $DIRECTION arrow and going to the next pane $DIRECTION instead of my intent to move the cursor or view history etc...

    bind-key Up select-pane -U
    bind-key Down select-pane -D
    bind-key Left select-pane -L
    bind-key Right select-pane -R

lastly, I really like these plugins

    set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tpm'
    set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tmux-sensible'
    set -g @plugin 'Morantron/tmux-fingers'
    set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tmux-resurrect'
    set -g @resurrect-capture-pane-contents 'on'

come on people, show us your filthy tmux conf

  • I mean there are dozens of us here šŸ˜†. But seriously, I know I'm not as stoked about the new seasons, it's just not the same. It's a bit weird seeing the resurrected corpse of one of your favorite shows stumbling around and repeating jokes it used to tell.

  • I think it's all those years lawyering. She's spent more time arguing cases in front of juries and judges than political speeches and it kinda shows.

  • ss -tulpn was a welcome find for me. I have it memorized for netstat and dislike always having to install it on a new box, very handy tool

  • This is super useful, thanks for sharing!

  • This is the bravest comment I've seen today, you deserve an internet prize šŸ†

  • One of my low-key unpopular opinions is that this is why Obama never accomplished much. Charismatic, gifted speaker, seemed like a great person etc.... but not terribly experienced in politicking. Honestly if you compare Biden's presidency with Obama's blow for blow I think, hands down, Biden wins on number of things accomplished. He just knows all the right buttons to press to get things done around Washington.

Definitely have to acknowledge the unprecedented pushback from congress that plagued Obama, but overall I think an experienced politician can vastly outperform a "good guy" in a lot of elected positions. It's why I'm not as stoked about term limits for Congress. Sure it hurts to see some of these lifers grift for years on end but it also fosters experienced people in the role. You think AOC is doing great stuff now, give her 5-10 more years of experience in the role and she'll be capable of doing way more.

  • I'm so fucking glad we've got a president who can at least handle this moment responsibly. Biden may not be everything people want but he's not seizing this moment to forward his own personal agenda. I think he is pretty clearly trying to find a more ethical path forward. I don't think we can say that about all of our past presidents.

  • The smarter people seem to be saying it's a mixed bag. She could have dragged the case out for more months, maybe even years. Or she could have seated a jury and done a different kind of dismissal thing that isn't appealable.

This path let's Jack Smith appeal to the 11th circuit (I think) immediately and they're the ones who rebutted her pretty soundly the last time she ruled on a Trump case. We can probably expect a reasonable ruling from them.

However, here's the rub. After 11th circuit or whatever has their say Trump can appeal to the Supreme Court. In their recent Presidential Immunity ruling there was a long response by Clarence Thomas that included a section questioning the legality of Jack Smith's appointment. Which is the same reasoning Cannon gives in her ruling. It's pretty clear that Thomas was signalling that he would rule in favor of Trump for that same reason if/when an appeal got to him.

It's not clear whether the rest of the conservatives on the court agree with Thomas but it all suggests this will go to the Supreme Court and at least one member has already signalled how they would rule. For the time being, Trump continues to prove that he is, in fact, above the law.
