  • I think the crux of it will be, would she respect OP's refusal to have that kind of power over her, and would she expect some sort of reciprocal act for some MAD outcome.

I'd wonder where she got ideas like that and find out if it's an integral part of her life.

  • His joke is that fluoride can be used to make extremely dangerous substances

From the wiki on the one he mentioned:

This oxidizing power, surpassing that of oxygen, causes ClF3 to react vigorously with many other materials often thought of as incombustible and refractory. It ignites sand, asbestos, glass, and even ashes of substances that have already burned in oxygen.

  • Ok, so for the poor people without care in those populations we say fuck them?

The mentally ill that don't do self care?

Fluoridation is providing a baseline. "Does not help much" is a useless statement if that includes everyone with the means for higher levels of care.

There are a bunch of policy decisions that are like this. Yes, it won't help you. Get over it, you aren't the whole city.

  • Yeah the problem with that is that the basic reason that they are like that is they are threatened. They have a need they are addressing with shooting down ideas.

Brian would do better if he addressed that need. I would bet if he started attributing his own expertise to this manager, and started saying things like "wow I've learned so much from you" his ideas would be accepted and credited to him. Brian's success was due to his manager, after all.
