I think the 2014 version is the last one that got done.
I bought the cable. I found Rocksmith 2014 to be utter shit. I can already play guitar at something close to proficiently and I think if I tried to use rocksmith to learn I would have given up. Not sure how much it has improved in the last 10 years but it would want to be a lot!
Is forestry happening in the area? A few thousand hectares of well managed forest creates hundreds of jobs. A couple of timber mills and all the labour that powers them, mechanics and saw doctors for those.
Trucks to haul the lumber, machines and operators to cut and extract it, and the mechanics for those. Machines to prepare the site for replanting and the operators and mechanics for those. Ground crews to plant trees. Foresters to manage the forest and all of the beaurocracy and hierarchy that comes with that. Fire management crew, science and research crews, plot measurers, tree markers...
Then you need another whole industry to keep this small army plied with booze and food.
13 years. I'm done with the platform but not just because of their API bullshit.
My worldview and beliefs increasingly seem to fall just slightly outside what Reddit mods and admin find to be acceptable opinion.
I think I'm a pretty logical and reasonable human being, but apparently my beliefs about the way of the world are enough to get me continuously banned from the platform. Genuine 13 year account, then several newer ones. In the end I have just come to terms that Reddit isn't for me. They don't want me there and that's fine.
I am having a really hard time being supportive of my daughter's use of Roblox.
We supervise reasonably closely so I'm not overly concerned about it from a child safety point of view even though the platform has a long history of not being a particularly safe online space.
The part that I'm worried about is that 99% of the content seems totally and utterly pointless. Most games have zero objectives and just centre on some stupid novelty game mechanic: oh, your neck gets longer, or you can be a wolf. What do we do now? Oh, we just walk around. We're a wolf.
There's nothing to achieve, there's no skill involved, no mastery of a game mechanic. It just seems completely without value to me. I'm stuck questioning if I'm just out of touch or if I should try and guide her towards taking on something a little more challenging.
The only part I like is that she plays with her school friends on the platform - they use external voice comms and just kind of hang out...I just wish they would do the same thing on a game that would challenge them in some way.
You can't get a wok hot enough across its entire surface to do actual stir-fry using electric or induction heating. What you end up with is a pitiful boil, not a stir-fry.
Thankfully they aren't about to ban gas bottles and the problem is fairly easily solved.
Oh shit, Beehawed again. I respect that. I don't think it's the place for me - I'm more into talking about real solutions to our problems, not just getting mad about shit.
If we were serious about having an actual impact on climate change, we should be talking about how long it is actually fair or reasonable for any human being to live.
Yeah well that and the fact that Justin is as bent as a frozen boomerang.
