Aww man, just saw Michael Gambon has passed. Just rewatched Wives and Daughters and Perfect Strangers, and both his performances were brilliant. I especially loved his take on The Squire, he played the hidden depths of that character and captured his relationship with Molly perfectly.
We leave them out at our place, both kitties love to carry their toys around or hide them in various spots. Although my housemate who is a very very festive person has a few holiday themed toys that only come out during their respective holiday.
I swear, when I occasionally visit over there, nine out of ten posts are bots/spam, especially on smaller subs that don't have high karma restrictions for posting. I am also getting bonkers recommendations, and most of my homepage is just ads for crap.
Ok DT, I have decided to take the new job offer! Short term, I lose a bit of cash (it was bound to happen because I make a LOT of penalties), but long term I make myself infinitely more employable and can start to think about settling down.
The absolutely massive win is I will now after a stupid number of years return to normal 9-5pm life! I am ridiculously excited, I miss my friends and family, and just having a normal weekend.
Housemate and I are rewatching The Pillars of The Earth because they were watching Succession and I said, much to they're fascination, that I fancied Matthew MacFadyen. They're now roasting me even harder because he's got a friar tuck cut and is dressed in dirty monks robs... Probably should have picked something else to make my point, but I just put it on the house server so wanted to test it.
Now I've been offered a proper chance to move out of my section, it's made my current job feel unbearable. I haven't even accepted the offer, and I'm already in the fuck it whatever stage.
Neutered fellas can still spray and get stinky, it might be the new environment upsetting him, so he's letting everyone know who's boss. As for the ball's situation, my dudes are still very visible because of his colouring/markings.
Have a meeting today about possibly taking another position in my workplace, but I think it may come with a pay cut... As much as I want out of what I'm doing now, I really can't afford it, might have to put my big boy pants on and try and negotiate.
Me climbing into bed at 8:15pm is the final signal that my mini-break is well and truly over. Now I'll not have another break until my big Christmas one, which has me in a terrible mood.
What also has me in a mood is the cat is going through a phase of thinking he owns the centre of the bed.
Let myself get sucked into thinking my mother was going parent for longer than five seconds, feels bad man. She begged me for a day out so ignoring instinct I planned a nice day, and now the afternoon before I can feel her wobbling and seeing how quickly she can get it over and done with. I love my mum, but man she puts those "here comes nanny with the children for a forehead kiss and some light petting" to shame.
Having a couch day after way to much driving yesterday so I'm filling my time rewatching old Outnumbered eps, and man I forgot how un-pc the first few seasons are due to the time period. Also I usually dont pay any attention to this stuff but it came up when I IMDB'd the show, Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner ended up going for it after the shows end, wild!
I kind of have an opposite feeling to this, I have a long first name that is frequently shortened, and I get terribly annoyed when I give it to people and they go straight in with "hey banana" instead of "hey bananafungus" like we're old pals.
Decided to do a hard reset (basically don't sleep, not even a nap after your last shift) after night shift to get it out of the way, and holy hell am I being reminded why I don't do it this way. I think I can hear and smell colours at this point! Just keep having to remind myself doing it this way means more holiday hours.
