  • Thank you! Not sure if the changes to image proxying in this version fixed things, but anecdotally seeing less failed thumbnails today. Before on Alexandrite, the thumbnails on image posts occasionally failed to load, until opening up the main post.

  • From The Matrix

Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure.

  • In a January email to staff, Musk pointed to the company’s growing influence and power, but said the finances remain problematic.

“Our user growth is stagnant, revenue is unimpressive, and we’re barely breaking even,” he said in the email, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Geee I wonder what could have caused this?

  • After TFA, I was really expecting Snoke to be a Yoda sized character. Then I watched The Last Jedi and realized I should have no more expectations for the movies, which was supported by watching The Rise of Skywalker.

  • If you head south from Detroit the first foreign country you’ll hit is Canada.

There's also Angle Inlet, Minnesota which is the only place in the contiguous United States north of the 49th parallel. To travel to Angle Inlet by road from other parts of Minnesota, or from anywhere in the United States, requires driving through Manitoba, Canada. It's a really weird border.
