this does appear to just be an innocent meme based on maybe one anecdote. it reinforces stereotypical thinking and maybe wants to introduce a new one, but it's not all that harmful. many people in the comments here shared their own experience and their own gender, and so someone who does visit the comments gains a bit of wisdom instead.

some xerox photocopiers had a "feature" where the copier would use OCR to scan the document (by default even) and then replace multiple instances of one letter (which may have all printed slightly differently before) with one instance of the same letter exactly, just copy+pasted into different places. if you were lucky it would even replace a "d" for example with a "b". the resulting documents look tampered with, not to mention that it breaks the perfect paper trail your organization is supposed to have.

To be fair, it's sort of the way of the internet and modern western society to love to nitpick and especially nitpick character flaws, and maybe some of that accidentally bleeds into spaces and people that want to be above such things (or at least not in a reductive or destructive way)

I don't think you need to be so black and white. you can pick and choose what goes into your faith, and still remain 95% christian. I guess to me the label just doesn't matter very much. also if the Pope claims that to accept all faith is christian, then that is very much what Catholic Christianity is. the Pope also plays a guiding and interpreting role, and you can choose to go with his interpretation or not.

I've seen a lot of conservative (the American Republican model) Christians but I have also seen what I consider to be "true" Christians, with a strong faith and love for everyone, and part of that faith often involves confronting reality, thinking about solutions to problems, helping the poor and weak. I agree with you that it's not all black and white. A lot of Christians don't believe in the literal text of the Bible for its supernatural claims, but instead they read it (and other religious texts, there are a lot of religious people who do some multi-track drifting) for its morals and guiding principles, which can all be interpreted in different ways, and there is a lot of discourse in religious circles about the meaning and morals of texts, about finding ancient wisdom or reinterpreting old texts to better suit modern standards. It can be a very research intensive way of life to be religious and have faith. I'd argue that if you have any principles at all that you stick to, that counts as faith.

Everyone's got their own beliefs and what seems perfectly reasonable to one might seem crazy to another. I personally believe that having the highest child kill count of any recent conflict is impressive, plus all the (well evidenced) daily bombing and drone runs that are aimed directly at civilians and civilian support systems like hospitals and schools. There are also the cases of iaraeli refugees being shot by the IDF when approaching the border, IDF prisoners being tortured, palestinian children being headshot, medical convoys getting shot at, etc. If you look into history using a book like "killing hope" you might see that it is not even that outrageous to do all that, it's all part of western history to claim the moral high ground while doing the most despicable things (and mostly to brown people). I think nobody can justify any of that reasonably. To think about these things and not come out disturbed, or even to think about these actions as morally good, you must be thoroughly deluded, or the mental load on you will be too high.

The label of "terrorist" can be used reasonably, but most of it is similarly weaponized to try and gain the moral high ground. It really means challenging the status quo. Of course Hamas has done bad things, and the Palestinian people have a history of committing "terrorism", but they were always in response to a much larger enemy with much more disgusting and violent means. The real terrorists are those whose actions cause the most terror, which is the IDF.
