Start of an era for Android hopefully, especially with EU's replaceable batteries law coming up. This is what OEMs should copy and not dumb shit done by Apple.
And the fun part is, you've still had a decades long lifestyle of having low prices by exploiting weak labour laws in poor countries! And if they raise prices by using your local labour you'll still cry capitalism. Isn't it fun?
I don't keep journals but I do read some of my old whatsapp chats from time to time. Helps that I still have mine from 2013. Just a fun way to look back at what was going on in my life at that point in time, or to see how my relationships with people have changed over the years.
Did Linux OSs move into torrents later? I'm surprised one of those isn't an older active torrent. I mean sure there's no point in actually installing those OSs now but people would still seed.
The problem with statements like these are even if Phil is telling the truth right now there's no saying what will happen 7 years later.
Xbox could be losing much more badly than they are now and could try new ways of getting exclusives
shareholders could want more and more
Phil could be replaced by the next Don Mattrick
Consumers don't own games especially on consoles where they are too tightly tied up with the company who made the hardware. Don't take this statement too seriously because you never know what will happen.

At that time I didn't care much about the privacy/open source aspect of it but in today's world it's definitely a big plus.
They can't even consistently get people to pay for one time and they're expecting a subscription? Lol they're massively out of touch.
