  • Don't kid yourselves, regardless of all your ideals open source only works because it's free from a monetary perspective.

Companies work on patches to Linux or other software because it primarily benefits themselves, and they only use Linux because it's free. Companies create hardware on Linux because it's free. They can manufacturer cheap devices and people will buy them because they were low cost primarily because of the use of FOSS software.

Nearly all of FOSS is funded by corporations whether you like it or not, for the reasons you want to hear or not. The only thing that drives people is money.

  • I mean, someone like Hatsune Miku already existed before. It's just (slightly) more mainstream now. The only issue with "virtual influencers" is how straightforward the owners are in admitting that their product is AI.

  • Spiderman remastered would be very nice, actually.

This year I had an unexpected GOTY (released last year but whatever) in Tinykin. It's a fun 3D platforming collectathon type game that I 100%'d because I liked it that much. The sound effects are perfect, the gameplay is rewarding and it all comes together so well.

  • Degoogle is the wrong word for lineage because it hasn't been "engoogled" in the first place, it doesn't ship with Google services at all. If you simply install the base ROM you don't have Google.

The question is if you want to replace Google with mock Google services so certain apps relying on GMS still work, or if you want to replace it completely with FOSS alternatives.
