Their competition for PDF Reader; Foxit, jacked their prices up considerably this last year too. It used to be an affordable alternative. They too got greedy (I assume since Adobe was getting away with it!) and have lost a considerable amount of customers in both the consumer end-users and the business side.
PDF becomes increasingly more used and 'standard' with the fracturing of ability to edit them or do 'advanced' tasks like merging multiple PDFs.
There are some alternatives which are free but also either Freemium or just plain questionable in their usage. I don't want to trust some random company and I don't want to be nickel and dimed for basic features like merge.

Sadly nothing as comprehensive as what Acrobat offers, but not an option at their pricing. Same with Foxit. I use PDFsam for some basic merge stuff. An interesting project is also Stirling PDF. but pdfsam is like Freemium and Stirling I'm pretty requires docker and it's also not in all languages.

Exactly because of my reasons listed, and because I often have to research or do trainings, I needed ways to save time and 'sift' through lots of information. I used to just play videos in say 1.5 speed, but even then it's sometimes hard to stay focused or you might miss something and have to stop and go back. Sometimes language is a barrier too. Not to mention the ads. So for my own sanity, I've been testing that out. It's been pretty damn good actually. I can get by on the lowest tier and you can try it free too. Again it's not for everyone, but I'd rather give them money than Google for their Anti-customer behavior.

For that drug yes. He did mention that there was something older, which these new ones are based on, which are coming out of patent. I believe it was liraglutide (victoza). Still seems to require daily injections I believe 😑 but for people who may need this, it's maybe worth it. I used to take daily injections for allergies (slowly strengthened over time) and others get it for diabetes anyway. especially if it is cheaper and with generics.

I've taken to using Ai to summarize video content just to be able to review if the video even contains an answer or information which is relevant.
I know I'm just one use case, that I don't watch a ton of other content. It's usually how to do something or fix something or configuration of something. I've sat through countless ads and videos which just wasted my time and left me frustrated trying to find information.
I installed a Windows 11 update. Office no longer worked. Office refused to re-install despite trying a huge number of things. It literally refuses to install. Tried their help tool which even does removal of old references in the system. Failed 5 times.
