Losing no-fault divorce correlates heavily with an increase of women killing their husbands. It's a bad plan for anyone who is actually a Humanist, but since hard line Christians aren't Humanists, they want more suffering and death in our society.
If Mexico puts sanctions on the US to limit taco seasoning in response, I'm going to be quite put out against the felon. If you deny us our tacos and tamales there's going to hell to pay. I want a taco truck on every corner and anything that gets in the way of that dream is not cool.
I use Google Docs for anything simple (1-3 pages), and if it has no citations or more than 2 figures. After that I upgrade to LaTeX.
I had a conference demand a docx file for the paper submission. I figured "fine it can't be that bad to use word for a simple 8 page publication" but boy was I wrong! It was torture trying to get it formatted and arranged properly. Every part of the word tool is weird and clumsy.
Oh, and they've completely broken the original GUI WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) premise of a GUI style editor. The PDF it creates often doesn't look anything like what the document looks like on the screen.
I dropped a note on the conference organizers about the docx requirement. I don't have that many hours to fuck around with bad tools so I can attend your venue. I'll just go to a conference that doesn't torture us to participate.
There was some way to either steal a "dirty" magazine, buy one from an older teenager, or check out the one you found at your friend's house that his dad had in a drawer somewhere.
If all else failed, there was always the Sears catalog.
Pitching your desire to block pornography against the collective sex drives of the whole populace is a recipe for you losing and look stupid doing it.
The last movie I went to in the theatre, I put in earplugs from the get go. I haven't been to many movies in the theatre in decades, but I wanted to be cautious.
I could hear every sound from the movie with great clarity. Every whisper was still loud enough to bust through the earplugs. It's just insane how loud they set it all up to be. How is that a good and attractive thing?
I now also have a 50 year old safety razor of my grandfather's. The depth on the exposed blade is smaller for the Henson, which does keep it from flexing and reduces the chance of cuts.
I usually get about 4-5 shaves from a blade, which costs me $0.10 each.
I also don't throw away plastic like you do with disposables and cartridge systems. Just good old fashioned rusty steel that goes into a used razor box.
I bought a safety razor after an in video ad from a YouTube channel I watch.
It came with a bonus extra set of blades.
It is my first safety razor and I'm loving it. Disposables are a sucker's game. I knew it for years, but I only finally took the plunge. Totally worth it.
Given our Supreme Court ruling that a US president can't commit crimes, they're not being very secret about their goal of making the US a dictatorship.
Not really as much as I feel we think. Having read more about Authoritarian mindsets, which includes the rank and file authoritarians, not just the leadership, they're actually happy to be reinforcing the hierarchy regardless of their position in it. They're happy to know their place and to ensure the ranks are kept in place. It brings comfort to many people to know that their position, regardless of how awful it is, is being maintained properly.
This means that they're entirely okay with a dictator and/or an oligarchy as long as the people on the top are "supposed" to be there.
I'm open to alternative options. Sticker Mule made great stickers, but is apparently a fundamentally anti democratic organization under the hood and willing to put Project 2025 in place to destroy the Republic.
