The 99.9% similarity refers to humans having nearly identical DNA sequences, but that doesn’t mean we express our genes the same way. Gene expression varies widely due to regulatory sequences, environmental factors, epigenetics, methylation, and more.
23andMe only analyzes a small, curated set of common SNPs, covering maybe 5 - 10 percent of the known functional and trait-associated genome. It doesn’t sequence most rare variants, the full exome, or structural elements.
Recent research is also starting to highlight the growing importance of the dark genome, revealing that non-coding regions we’ve dismissed as junk DNA play significant roles in regulation and disease.
Look how long Facebook, etc operated at a loss for. They’re in the top 10 sites (top 5 maybe iirc). They can do what they want, they have the users. People will throw money at them until they don’t. Microsoft’s best shot at rivalling Google search. They haven’t even put ads in the responses yet.
If the state starts prosecuting DNA crime they’ll just swab people they don’t need a private firm barely anyone’s used to collapse.
Dodgy American insurance firms could try and get their hands on the data no doubt, but Regeneron has to abide by the same data protection rules as 23andme.
I’ve publicly uploaded mine to anywhere that’s take it anyway who cares. Unless you’re American there’s no huge risk. If they use the anonymised data to discover new drugs and treatment then I’m glad to contribute. It’s only <0.1% of your genome.
If his plan was to run initially he would’ve done it straight away. He came back because he knew the only thing that could beat Trump (excluding an actual populist leftist candidate which the dnc vetoed), was an old white guy. Safe pair of hands. Similarly the dems had no one else inspiring and weren’t going to throw away the incumbent old white guy bias. Probably would’ve won if it weren’t for the debate gaffe. People aren’t paying attention.
The populace and the DNC did that. Biden would’ve rather retired to his farm where he could’ve sniffed his grandchildren’s hair in peace for the rest of his days.
Get in on the grift. Short the market, then open longs when he’s about to bend the knee. Good chance he’ll tweet directly few hours before the pump so everyone has a chance to load their bags.
