  • the number is how much cash you could get in your hand right now if you wanted to and it is absolutely more than just a suggestion; it’s real buyers buying right now at that price.

Edit: not to mention, the remaining value is now worth 30% less due to instant tariff inflation on the price of goods

  • “both sides!!!” is such a lame take. You don’t see any difference between the Democratic and Republican parties?

Who built the anti-corruption measures Trump is currently dismantling?

  • Unfortunately you don’t get things because you want them, you get things that actually exist.

No progressive/leftist party or candidate exists that can gain more than a couple of percent of the vote.

In that world, you choose the most progressive viable candidate.

to me, there are clear differences between the Republicans and the Democrats, and the choice is obvious. Both in values and action - they support labor, climate, diversity, education, access to health care, anticorruption, etc…

  • no reproduction would be held by a museum, and museums would hold even “low” quality artifacts that represented a significant aspect of creativity or innovation, so that’s weird wording.

But, it’s going to be oil paint on a canvas instead of a digital print. The work being reproduced is probably not covered by copyright.

  • if the executive and agencies that are tasked with enforcing “the law” (vs the executive’s instructions) ignore judicial rulings, it’s kind of a moot point. Republicans and right-wing media have spent 30 years rotting out the conceptual foundations of “ethics”, “integrity”, and “values” to the point that the only qualification for leadership positions is fealty to Trump. The people they are hiring reject principles or integrity, to achieve power.

Regardless, The historical norm is that judges who have a stake in a case recuse themselves, but we know the game has changed. It seems unlikely an EO would target a named individual, and it can’t direct the judiciary or create new law or crimes…..

At some point, we may be down to the level of the guy executing the arrest warrant or holding the keys to the jail cell or cutting the power lines to the courthouse being cognizant and responsible to their oath before their orders.

If that seems hopeless - start communicating ideas about loyalty to founding principles, the constitution, the laws, and the people. Enforce traditional and shared values rather than arguing and causing people to entrench into factions. It’s time to act, get that shit out there rather than reposting news articles or battling trolls

  • Connect people back to value systems instead of aggressively debating specific issues.

For example, when we think about Jesus Christ’s teachings, why are we erasing the nation’s historical decision to help the poor, sick, and hungry - an action executed by the most greedy, vain, and boastful people on earth?

  • There is a bit more overhead when you can’t just overwrite a value in memory. But cpu time and memory space are some of the most cheap and straightforward resources to scale up compared to engineering time to resolve consistency bugs.

There is also a performance hit associated with mutexes or locking required to ensure mutable structures are updated consistently, and many high-scale systems have moved to append-only logs and copy-on-write semantics - structures that leave already-written data in place - because mutability/locking doesn’t scale.
