  • It's not the same effect. Then the sauce will be salted, and the pasta will maybe absorb some of that salt.

But, in my opinion, that's an inelegant solution.

I personally do not want any more salt in the pasta sauce than what's already in there. I do, however, want my pasta to take in a little salt from the water.

For those reasons, I add a little salt to my water as it's boiling

  • Hey listen.

You don't know me and vice versa.

I cannot recommend The Expanse show any more strongly. There's a lot of care put into the physics, world building, and characters. The whole show really is a grand ride.

I would say try watching an episode or two. But in reality a lot of the first two episodes are setup. They're amazing, but you're still being introduced to the world. By the end of episode 4, I promise you'll be hooked.

  • I read the collection of this manga at some random school library years and years ago, and something about th visual noir style and the detective story set in a manga seared itself into my young brain.

I'm actually waiting to see the anime before going back to reread the manga to see how much mumy experience of the media has changed over the years.

  • Nah, nah to your understanding of LLM's

No it's not true intelligence. Yes, it makes humans much faster at their work

It has really sped up my work, especially when coding in unfamiliar languages.

It's silly to compare it to a parlor trick or text prediction.

  • As if that excuses their behavior on a forum dedicated to learning and solving problems?

Everyone gets annoyed at oft-repeated questions. But the answer is moderation, which is also unpaid.

    Not vitriol and skullduggery.

  • TiL

I knew about redifining the kilogram as it's related to gravity beforehand

But not the next part about kg and photons and planck etc etc. I learned all that just now by reading a response to my comment

I genuinely did not know about the relationship to light until just now.

So, yes. But again, your comment alone didn't help me understand about the relationship beforehand. I wasn't sure what you meant at all, so just responded with my understanding of it

  • They linked the kilogram to the gravitational force.

It's part of an effort to clarify how we define things. We're now trying to link our recorded units to the basic forces they are related to. So now, the kilogram is defined by the gravitational force, the meter by how fast light travels, etc etc

  • I think you need to perhaps watch some videos explaining the anatomy/physiology of the gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract.

The kind of questions you're asking can be easily answered with an understanding of the systems I've stated above.

  • Y'all I dislike forced browser adoption as much as the next guy.

And I've been using Firefox for years and years and years now.

But, I'm forced to use edge for work. And, as a browser purely, none of the anti-trust baggage attached....

It's really not too bad. A lot of things work just fine. And sometimes, if I'm having weird performance on a website on a personal device, loading the same URL in edge has resulted in improved/expected functionality of the website

  • I don't know that it is unnecessarily harsh.

A guy with no training going around trying to catch pedophiles. He's not the only one doing it in the US, and it's almost always for clout.

People trying to be Mark Hanson and catch predators, except they don't have a team of people and actual police contacts to help them. And it's not because they're so concerned about possible victims. It's cuz they wanna play hero and put some shine on their name.

This dude managed to get himself killed and leave behind a dependent child. He kinda WAS being an idiot. I feel bad for the kid.

  • Yeah man, I've had both experiences with Jansport.

Have one that lasted FOREVER, and several that lasted less than two years. Couldn't tell you why the difference. They were all very similar models.

Although, I bought a Swiss Gear backpack about 4 years ago for laptop/travel needs. Granted, there has been less wear on this backpack vs others I've had in my life. But this one has very little damage even after several trips. Very satisfied with this backpack.
