  • How do we know you’re really Cuttlefish1111? Maybe you’re a government plant who’s just trying to make us think that Cuttlefish1111 is an idiot, so we won’t trust him! Which is more likely, Cuttlefish1111 saying something really stupid or the government conspiring against him? First glance I think the answer is obvious.

  • Don’t worry about it. Doctors are expensive and living is overrated anyway. It’s probably fine.

  • I assumed sleep apnea. CPAP users of today are the past’s “dang he died mysteriously in his sleep, oh well!”

  • Godspeed, I hope you get to meet your particle.

  • Not even impartial. Dems hire conservatives because they’re so fucking scared of being perceived as “political”. Alienate the people on your side to reach across the aisle so you can get your hand slapped.

What I wouldn’t give for a progressive party that plays to win.

  • 80% of the story of that show is told by the casting department. Brilliant TV!

  • This! A lot of human-generated subtitles are excellently timed. Auto-generated or live subtitles suck.

  • This but unironically. You learn over time how to read subtitles without having to focus on the text. If you’ve ever tried speed reading, it’s a similar skill. You’re not really reading each letter of each word, you’re just kind of absorbing the pattern of the text to help inform how you interpret what you’re hearing.

With worse hearing loss you’ll obviously not be able to rely as much on the audio and will have to focus more on reading, but in those cases I don’t think anyone would argue the subtitles aren’t improving your experience of the video.

  • Thank you for the practical advice! Uranus exerts a lot of pressure and getting my tongue up there could be challenging.

  • We still like to sniff stuff. You’ve got some very sensitive chemoreceptors right on your face, might as well use them!

  • So you’re saying I can lick Uranus?

  • Human anatomy: you’re technically always licking it. And now you’re aware of it. Your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Touching your teeth.

  • People are very friendly there, and many speak some amount of english, especially in Tokyo. A lot of signs have English translation on them too. Learn some polite phrases and try your best, and use a translator app if needed. You will do just fine!

  • Yes, that’s a huge part of it. “Democratic” has been poisoned as word for many Republicans to the point where they can’t even discuss topics like democracy without experiencing reflexive disgust. So much of their decision making is centered around fighting things that make them feel scared or icky, it makes a twisted kind of sense.

  • Fool me once, shame on… shame on me. Fool me twice? You can’t get fooled again!

Because of the fatal dose of radiation.

  • Wow you’re a slow reader LOL

  • 156 movies!? That’s like 3 per year since the ‘70s! That motherfucker works hard.

  • Would he have been cast for his Marvel role if he never said “motherfucker” in previous iconic roles? It’s impossible to detangle the impact of motherfucker from his success. If we could quantify the value of every word prior to his first on-screen motherfucker, and compare with his post-motherfucker value-per-word that might help support the hypothesis that motherfuckers are worth more.
