Nobody is talking about the United States. This whole thread is about your quote from the Chinese government.
I didn’t compare anything to anything, I asked a question and have not gotten an answer. I have already explained how one possible answer of that question would be racist.
It’s not obtuse to point out that it’s racist to say that what the Chinese had 5000 years ago was a nation but what the Incas or Cherokees, for instance, had was not.
So China has existed for 5000 years but America has only existed since white peoples decided to start a government? Or are you cool with Native Americans claiming 50,000 years?
I came here to voice this opinion as well. It’s one of the only things I miss about the other site. I have found people on Mastodon attempting to fill that void with regional hashtags though. YMMV.
I got curious; Seattle is indeed 100 miles further than Vancouver from Tokyo. That being said, bonded warehouses exist, so there would be no financial benefit to using separate ports or tariff penalty from using a single port.
One of the expressed reasons for cutting funding to PBS and NPR (via the Corp. for Public Broadcasting) is because they can’t influence what is being said by those entities.
It’s what Game Stop (and a myriad of other “buy, sell, trade” stores) does with used games and consoles but with cars. eBay exists but most people don’t want to go to that much trouble.
It’s interesting what different companies consider success. Apple sold far more iPhone Minis in 3 years and yet the phone is considered to have no market.
I wonder if other companies entering the handheld space, like Lenovo and Asus for instance, will see numbers like this and bail like they did last time they tried Steam Machines?
I wish you were correct. Unfortunately it only implies the meme you posted and lacks the context you are ascribing. It could be taken either way on the Internet.
One of my favorite things about what you are saying is modern transistor gates are smaller than microscope resolution at the time. Even if they could recognize an integrated circuit it would be another 10-20 years before they could even start to reverse engineer it.
I would be a lot more willing to accept the inflation argument if salaries at these companies were going up at inflation rates too.
In this case though we all know they are not and additionally digital releases not needing to be physically transported and the lack of printed manuals in physical games, for instance, also cuts down on what it costs to make and ship a game today.
I’m just going to leave this here.
