  • I'm surprised that the fediverse is as popular as it is, I would've guessed <500k. That's awesome. I'm also shocked that Threads is apparently that popular, I completely forgot it existed immediately after it launched. I also didn't know that Snapchat still existed, so maybe I'm just out of touch on social media stuff.

  • Unlike some older mods that caused problems with how the game’s physics worked, this one keeps everything in check.

Nice, the old 60fps mod was janky and caused more problems than it was worth. Might have to play Rivals again with this one.

  • I’ve been running Fedora for years. I tried out Arch and OpenSUSE a bit this year just to see if I was missing anything, and went right back to Fedora afterward.

Not as fussy as Arch and better package availability than SUSE (for my needs at least). Also dnf is my favorite package manager despite being relatively slow.

  • I could be talked into bumping Hex up to B, I just want it between Phillips and Robertson.

I don't have any experience with Pozi screws in the US, but doing a quick search they look like a solid upgrade over Phillips, so I'm guessing I would agree if I actually used them.

  • In theory they're good, but I've had a few too many allen/hex screws strip and having both SAE and metric standards is irritating. Tool quality has been an issue as well, I've had shitty Torx screwdrivers last for years and years while a decent allen wrench will snap or wear out way faster. Still miles better than Phillips though.

Edit: also you can use Torx bits on hex screws, so more points for Torx.

  • I’ve seen a few people wanting another usb-c port. It would be neat, but personally as long as they keep the headphone jack, I’m happy with the one port. I just want to charge and listen to stuff at the same time, which I can do on the Deck unlike most modern phones.

  • Things are slowly improving, but public chargers do kinda suck right now. There’s an app called PlugShare that you can download which lets you see reviews for all chargers in your area. It’s saved some headaches a few times cause I can just avoid chargers with bad ratings.
