Super weird to be defending genocide, too, but here we are.

I dropped Amazon like ... I dunno, 15 years ago? I just couldn't stand them. Stuff that I have to buy online, I try to get from their original manufacturers or a trusted reseller (like, I dunno, if I was trying to buy a baby thermometer, I might get it from a reputable drug store, that kind of thing).

For stuff that I absolutely can't find a match for, I'll put it in my cart and just leave it there. A lot of times, I'll find that I don't actually need that item, it was either seen impulse buy or I can get something similar elsewhere. Eventually, once every year or two, my basket fills up over the limit that gets me free shipping. I'll still wait, but eventually I'll buy the whatever they are. But it means that I'm buying from Amazon like once every year or two, and it's stuff that I've researched and waited on.

If Israel isn't differentiating between civilians and soldiers when they shoot and bomb people, I don't see why I should.

For me it depends on the wrapping, and I honestly don't know why. But if the [bun / bread] is toasted, then it has to be mustard. If it's not toasted, then it has to be ketchup. If it's steamed, then mustard and sauerkraut. And again, I have no idea why.

That said, I hate that the Democrats are focusing so much on abortion. Yes, it's been an driving force when it's been on the ballot, but you want something more than just giving people a reason to vote on one issue and hoping it carries over to politicians. Give people something to vote for, not just against.

I'm not saying that the article is wrong. I'm saying that people form their initial ideas about a situation based on their first impression, and that even with a willing listener who is willing to change their mind, it's harder for any subsequent information to make an impression. By posting content from a source with known biases that deals in propaganda, you both shittify the content and legitimize the source.

If it's the only place reporting it, maybe you should wait for a less biased source to weigh in before posting it.

I listened to an interview with the owner of the company on the radio this morning. He's a commercial real estate investor who sold everything near the start of the pandemic (smart). He then decided to form an ocean exploration company to search for things like lost planes and ships and such. He chose this as his very first search because he was curious, but also because he wanted to generate publicity for his company. They set up a 90-day search mission and were filming it for a documentary. And they found the object on literally the very last day of the search. They say it could be the plane, but that it could also just be a group of rocks in the shape of a plane. He's already gotten one [person? company?] to hire him to look for another lost item underwater and had other inquiries.

Honestly? I don't think it's the plane, just a guy drumming up publicity for his new business, especially since it's in a field that he's not established in. They're going to go back and either not be able to find that image again, or it'll turn out to be a bunch of rocks. Possibly even a bunch of rocks they spotted earlier and came back to in the last day with the idea of "eh, close enough" for publicity purposes. As for the image? Remember this?

This works with reading comprehension: if you have kids, always keep the subtitles on on the TV.

IMO, they think their defense case was damaged by all the comments senior Israelis have made calling for the genocide of the Palestinians, so now they're trying to defuse that argument.

They're trying to provoke a reaction that they can sell to their media-fueled-paranoid Christonationalists to drive them to the polls.

Also conservatives: we'll intentionally break something, publicly prevent you from fixing it, blame you for it being broken, and our media will ensure our voters never know that we did all this - it's all your fault!

Pretty much every other country we sent weapons to have limits placed on their use - why does Israel get this special exemption?
