It's not an alternative to lemm.ee and also the dev shits on federation.
And I still can't believe that they still haven't fucking implemented search yet. The search is literally Google search with a site:discuit.org constraint.
It seems like nutomic is in favor of this idea. He stated that he wanted to implement such a thing in the future when most bug fixing is done. So we definitely could see this during the v1.x.x releases: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3303#issuecomment-1607459130
I sent a PM regarding this. Hopefully they'll respond and cross post the AMA post to other communities.
edit:
Hi!
Thanks for noticing us for the concerns about lemmy.ml.
Unfortunately, it's a bit late to cross-post it now (We didn't ask to these specific communities for the AMA and we would need to check different links, I guess).
There are still a lot of Mastodon servers federated with Lemmy.ml so that can be a way to reach this AMA anyway.
We'll think about lemmy.ml concerns for the next time!
I think the old Lemmy alternative frontend supports no JS. But I'm not sure whether the dev is still actively maintaining it: https://github.com/rystaf/mlmym
No, not any I know of. Tagging is also commonly called mentioning here.
edit: Oh, I think I know what they mean. It's the labels or badges you can put on people, I think. But that is not a native Lemmy feature. Thunder and Summit have them, for example.
OP should make clear whether they mean mentioning or labeling people in apps.
I am not sure how a bug can change a users post to literal nonsense with URLs that direct you to some non functional website.
It's most likely some troll.
