  • But… the post tells you exactly what you need to know to look it up if you’re unfamiliar. Search loss meme.

  • That’s not what they’re saying. Nuance is important here.

Some people have a legitimate condition where they can’t remember faces. Moreover there’s a lot of different brains out there and some people have very poor memory when it comes to other people’s names or other details, especially if they’re introverted and have anxiety in social situations. It can be helpful to have reminders, like keeping birthdays attached to people in your contacts so your calendar can remind you when it is someone’s birthday. Everyone is different and what you call “effort” might be a physical or mental deficiency or differently wired brain for someone else.

  • Yes but on other sites where people have historically posted the shortened direct sub urls that used to go to old.reddit will now forward to new reddit or be broken according to the comments of the OP post. That’s the key difference here. Posts people made many years ago will now go to new reddit, which is why I suspect specifically attempting to manipulate user / site stats because even if their api prevents search engines from using it properly, there’s a wealth of already indexed links out there.

  • My guess, break existing old links on other sites so that they can show a graph with a drop in usage of less-ad-riddled way to access the website and drive more to the ad enabled views.

  • Yeah that’s one thing I think doesn’t get much attention. We actually have a lot of solar in some major countries. In many areas, there’s too much and it’s wasted right now. The efficiency of the grid’s solar intake and distribution is often times worse than the solar panel efficiency themselves. If we can store and distribute that excess with the same efficiency of the panels, it would be a huge stress relief on many systems.

  • This is me wondering.. is there anyone who curates and categorizes lists of open source projects actively looking for contributions? Possibly with an organization based on experience level? It’s often hard to tell what project are active enough that entry, intermediate, or experienced level help is needed and for what.

  • Anxiety is a possibility, even if you aren’t actively feeling it. This is a good opportunity to seek help from a professional, even if it’s nothing related to that.

  • My friend and I call it a box cut because they’re often worse than a normal paper cut due to fibers that can cause additional irritation unless cleaned out.

  • Don’t forget the extreme dryness ptsd_dog.png

  • The Light Phone III looks promising.

  • I would rather have super boogers than super bugs.

  • We’ve had lithium based true wireless earbuds for nearly 10 years now according to my quick internet search, and the popularity of them has skyrocketed to millions of users. 10 years, millions of devices, and one finally catches fire? Genuinely I’m just confused by what you mean you’ve been waiting for a story like this.

  • Given the share price has fallen so hard, I won’t be surprised if Ubisoft just lays off most the workforce anyways.

  • This is why you don’t preorder! Don’t pay extra to get the game early when they’ll launch it early anyways if sales are too low!

  • CO2 buildup is the part that cause pain, panic, and visceral reaction. There’s a reason they purge CO2 from the assisted suicide pods that also completely surround the body in an air-tight enclosure.

The violent reaction can be explained by a buildup of CO2 which is partially how the body signals the brain to breathe more and heavier. This is not usually observed with inert gas deaths which is why industrial inert gas accidents often have people passing out and dying without even noticing.

  • I really wish rider would respect when I turn it off. It just keeps re-enabling itself.
