  • So that instance admins can maintain more control over who can use their instance. I think it might be a modding nightmare otherwise.

Honestly I think such a decentralized distributed type website should exist, but moderation would be very difficult and it'd be like some kind of dark web 4chan

  • Corporatacracy here we come

  • It is bad if we care about adoption right now

  • It'll happen with time, but yeah, reddit has had a decade to have any interest about anything to be posted on their platform

  • I still browse it occasionally through libreddit (private front end that still works with their anonymous API for some reason) and they're still getting thousands of upvotes and comments on /r/doordash posts. People are hopelessly addicted.

  • I'm on here way too much during the work day and haven't noticed any problems

  • Yeah like the other guy said, at least you're not threatened with a site wide ban after pissing off the wrong mod lol. And subs/communities can't just be disappeared by Spez since they'll own their own server

  • Or approximately 2400 cheeseburgers for the Americans in the audience.

  • As much as I've been able to gather from the .ml Lemmy instances where these people live, extreme communists who defend Chinese and Russian propaganda and deny any atrocities they've committed while railing on America to defend their stance.

  • I had no idea it was actual film and this thicc

  • Could be a direct donation to your instance

  • Do what others are doing in this thread, gift them to a comment promoting Lemmy in the thread and elsewhere

  • Careful, I'm sure you'll also get banned around here for going against the grain just slightly. Different infrastructure, same mods and dominant politics.

  • Dear God 😂 please tell me this is an exaggeration

  • For real, use all that land for something actually good for communities and cities say... affordable spaces for small businesses?

  • They can't get rid of our company culture!!

  • That's.. not what is happening here.
