  • I never thought they would avert this shutdown, this is so unprecedented. Never in American history has there been an imminent shutdown raged about for weeks and then suddenly everyone decided that a shutdown is bad and came together to avert a shutdown. Wow, this is amazing. /s

  • Yes, let me reiterate for OP that archinstall is how you want to start your arch setup. The tutorial will guide you down the manual path to setup which is a lot more laborious and doesn’t always work the way you hope. The built-in script will do all of the manual setup tasks for you.

  • Enshittification is the middle name of AI

  • Just fork it and make a better UX then (and give it a better name than the current one).

  • I suppose this translates to: “use this in an environment that doesn’t have access to anything important”

  • They don’t care if those who can’t afford would be without. They want to squeeze every dime out of every student they can, it’s their business model.

  • I remember missing a certification test for a legitimate reason, calling to reschedule, spending hours on the phone with Pearson and being told there’s nothing to be done. They couldn’t refund, reschedule or be bothered with me even after I paid $150 for an exam and called soon after. • I don’t know exactly why, but I think I will always prefer Debian or its derivatives over RHEL and its derivatives.

  • It asks questions for both self-hosted on your own hardware as well as hosted in the cloud, I’m a little confused why everyone thinks all the questions must be applicable. It’s a survey about self-hosting. I happened to have cloud and local hosting answers, and it seemed like if I only used cloud there were suitable answers for that. Maybe I missed something?

  • That $1 starter pack is the real deal! I’m rolling with Tux on my laptop and I’m looking for places to slap my other stickers

  • How often do you think organized protest goes uninterrupted by force in mainland China?

  • I feel like the latter conclusion isn’t entirely true. If this is other countries’ exposure to political discourse, you should be concerned about the generations to follow, if we even make it that long as a species.

  • Red Hat and Rocky Linux both sponsoring this is a mildly humorous juxtaposition

  • Oh you certainly can, does that mean you should?
