Honestly I'd take it at this point, there are still a lot of people that would take him more seriously than Harris.

You can't just shoot people that aren't breaking any laws. Press or not.

What they'll lie and tell you is that a gathering can be declared illegal, but that's bullshit. If I'm standing there peacefully and someone else does something illegal I have not violated the law. I should not be guilty by association and I should not be stripped of my rights to peacefully assemble.

Remember historically successful resitances don't meet the enemy on an open front. They harrass and kill individuals. Soldiers that are alone, at home, and at the bar have historically been targets

I'd say the vast majority of people in the military these days are poor kids looking for an escape to cyclical poverty.

Pretty much everyone I've even met in the national gaurd are people who re-enlisted after their first stint in the army to get a regular paycheck while they go to school

I mean yeah the US military always has the option to raze entire cities to sniff out a resistance. I doubt that will be done

Only useful if you know when and where someone will be. Obviously heightens surveillance capabilities, but they can't be everywhere at once

The powerful and their goons seem to have forgotten that sure they can roll up anywhere with an army and overpower protesters, but that's not going to solve this. It's just going to start a true resistance.

There have been few times in history where resistance forces have fought state forces on an open battlefield.

As seen historically, a typical resistance force will harrass the enemy. Bomb their buildings, stockpiles, and infrastructure. Wait until the state goons are alone, at their homes, at the bar, in a grocery store and then that's when they kill them.

All sending the national gaurd in to kill protesters will result in is a true resitance forming.

I agree, it's certainly illegal and probably the biggest constitutional crisis since the Civil War.

At this point the illegality is the status quo for this administration

Yes they are supposed to be under the direction of each states governor. The president can "federalize" them and then utilize them.

Another issue is the intent to use them in other states where those states governor's haven't given permission.

Basically the president can federalize a state's national gaurd and direct them within that state. That's legal, but is supposed to only be used during emergencies. Last time this was done was to prevent violence during the civil rights movement. However, moving them to another state without that state's permission is likely illegal as is using the national gaurd as a long term police force

Literal martial law, while conveniently not calling it that. Just a few weeks away. But let's make 10 posts about their little spat

It's all just a distraction. It coincides with him finishing preparations to send the national gaurd to police "sanctuary cities" and enforce immigration laws.

He's sending the military to police our cities, this is martial law without declaring it. He's even talking about forcibly sending the gaurd from primarily Republican states into primarily Democrat lead states against the will of those governors. This might be the worst constitutional crisis since the Civil War.

Yet all I'm hearing about these days is all about Musk and Trump fighting.
