  • what little there was left to me i never got--older sibling responsible for distributing it only 'distributed' my share into their bank account.

  • republicans have a super-majority in both chambers of the ohio state legislature, i doubt the veto holds past 10 minutes into their next day of work.

  • penetrates deep.

  • what he should be convicted of that sends him there would also disqualify him.

  • that's fine if you have the patience for their shipping shenanigans. they sit on orders for days and/or ship from distant warehouses when you don't have the prime sub.

  • they'd go a 'no refunds' policy first, which they'd totally get away with in the u.s.

  • she simply wants to hurt poor people.

it's not a 'covid-era' thing anymore, it's a permanent program now--one paid for by the feds, who will also reimburse states for half of their expenses to distribute those funds to those eligible.. which really isn't that much seeing how that most of the recipients probably already applied-for or are receiving other benefits for low-income households.

  • that's what it was initially, reporting decimal 'megabytes' for hdd capacity. lawsuits and settlements followed.

the dust settled and what we have now is disclaimers on storage products (from the legal settlements) and they continue to use 'decimal' measurements...

and we also a different set of prefixes for 'binary' units of measurements (standards body trying to address the problem of confusion): kibi, mebi, gibi, tebi, pebi, exbi; which are not widely used yet.. the 'old' ones are for decimal but still commonly used for binary.

  • so.... a $3 a month increase to prime.

one that will likely net amazon more profit when you don't give-in and pay the extra (ads being more profitable than subs, as netflix has realized).

  • at least you can choose to pay for one streamer at a time, binge, switch, repeat.

(for now, anyway.. until they all quit the full season drops and/or start putting their catalog on a rotation like the 'disney vault' was to home video).

  • one of these women is in her 'late 60s' and only been paying student loans for 'more than a decade'--they would have phrased that differently had they been paying for more than 20 years.

so she went back to school on loans at what? aged 50? 55? older? why??

  • they haven't been allowed for poultry production since the 1950s

  • i guess my age will show a bit here, but it's public radio that's on whenever i'm in the car. when there's kids along, though, it's usually soundtracks to their movies (yea, those. and i don't really mind--i like 'em too)

  • "come on, sunkist, gimme a paw here. i only got one life left."

  • it's all part of the con. god doesn't have an aws bill. incoming traffic is null-routed, as god doesn't give a shit and never responds; and senders pay their own bandwidth.

  • dude's been stealing oxygen from more worthy beings since day one.

  • can we let a future cell mate have a crack at it first?

  • yea, they steam has some drm-free games available... but steam is a drm platform.. one that also helped normalize one-time-use codes and tying 'purchases' to a non-transferable online account. valve did more to shred the used pc game market than any other company.

  • turning down federal money (the now-permanent program is paid for by the feds, not by the participating states) because it would go to poor kids.
