  • enterprise device management and reporting unknown quantities of data back to hp are two different things.

  • most hp printers don't ship with the hard-core third-party ink/toner block. that's in the firmware updates.

never update the firmware of an hp printer if you use, or think you might want to use some day, third-party consumables or refills.

if you 'subscribe' to ink, you're fucked, as that service requires automatic firmware updates be enabled.

some do now, those should be labeled as such on the box--'must use hp ink for life of printer' or some bullshit.

  • iirc, they are banned... to cell phones, with very limited exceptions.

but that relies on honest callers, and sufficient resources being available to adequately enforce.

  • it is. mamma calls them 'bubby' because using their real name would create extra confusion at dinnertime.

  • it's a lot easier for them to hide among us, here, than it is the other way around, though.

  • it was a gift, and they tossed it because the democrats might look good for compromising and working across-the-aisle.

  • amazon's local showrooms.. err, i mean bestbuy locations across the u.s., accepts many things for recycling--at no charge. including cell phones, desktops, laptops, all-in-ones, and printers. details here

  • years ago, we could always tell when we crossed-over into iowa just from shit-tier freeways we'd encounter.. and it made no difference what direction and state we were coming from. which was a different experience than knowing exactly when you left iowa and ventured into omaha.. which was done by smell alone.

  • there's gonna be a catch or two, or twenty. there always is, especially if there's an (R) after a bill author's name.

tuition will probably increase significantly as schools have to cover loans themselves instead of the federal government, funds for loans will be limited and current credit worthiness becomes a key factor of whether you are able to attend. both of which will put higher education out-of-reach of more people--eventually producing a less-educated workforce, willing to work for scraps. republican goals

if the feds aren't backing the loans, the president or congress can't alter terms of those loans, such as pausing payment requirements, or using federal funds to reduce or eliminate the loan balances, etc. republican goals

states will have to pick up the slack by increasing funding to their state schools or offer their own student loan program, both of which will cost them money--significant money. this will reduce funds available for other social/public programs or require increases to state taxes. it will burden 'blue' states (the ones most likely to do these things) far more than the 'red' ones. republican goals

  • it's been a few months since i've had that pc booted-up, but i think this is the one:

note that i don't create or translate subs, all i really use it for is for adjusting timing of the whole file (using vlc to find the + or -), and the occasional edit or delete of an existing line.

  • i have a flipper, there are no 'apps'. i don't even text on it.

  • i never willingly gave them anything, and never had an account, but i'm sure they have a ton of data anyway despite always using ad and tracker blockers everywhere, and never having a device with their apps.. just from mentions and tags on peoples' pages and what they can assemble from that and other data they get their mitts on.

  • according to my co-worker, if you still have some left in the bottle, you haven't used enough.

  • i've had ads inside of subs downloaded via browser. whenever i see them, i load 'em up in my sub editor and remove them. i usually have to adjust timing anyway as my sources are rarely the same.

  • they keep moving that shit around, too. seems like i'm always finding some new crevice they've hidden some setting they don't want you to know about.

  • windows costs money, per device. microsoft places limits, pretty strict ones, on how far oems can go wrt customizations of the oobe, the ui/ux, and other shit. valve didn't chose linux because of anything other than it was the only reasonable choice for what they wanted to produce.

  • if you built a $2000 desktop and didn't specifically go out and source old parts... it's got one, most likely, you've just chosen to not enable it. intel and amd cpu have them built-in and motherboards and their bios support those. they don't need headers for a module or a discrete tpm chip on the board.

  • in 1990, $8-10 a carton; nowadays it's barely worth the short drive there--they price them 'just under' regular retail price here.

  • services like this rely upon the data harvesters and brokers to honor removal requests. honest ones would. but there's tons of them that aren't legit, so it's like using a straw to empty lake superior.
