  • OP seems confused about the different between a flip phone and foldable phone.

They are two massively different things.

  • It is ironic that many Android fans complain that iPhone users are ignorant about what features Android phones have ("haha, we've had that feature for years!") yet seem to have just as little of a clue what modern iPhones can do.

I recently got a 13 pro for work, and had to admit I was surprised at how good their software has become.

  • The Iphones is a toy for content consumption.

    That isn't completely fair.

Ask any artist/videographer what OS they are using.

  • They are many nice things about them.

    • great build quality
    • long software support
    • brick and mortar repair
    • cohesive ecosystem
    • products aren't abandoned
    • devices hold their value

I really wish I could use them but there are simply a lot of things about Android that I find more important.

    • ironically, not being bound into an ecosystem
    • much more freedom of device choice\
    • can install whatever apps you want
    • i refuse to use a device without a headphone jack
    • far more customizable
  • that's ok, because it's the "bad" race.

  • I had semi-high hopes, but yea, this place is atrocious

  • it isn't the first world we have to worry about.

  • lemmy coomers will never concede this obvious point

  • there are lots of reasons to own an iPhone

there are lots of reasons to own an Android

very weird behavior to make it part of your personality in either direction

  • swappa doesn't refurbish anything.

they let people sell their phones.

  • "babe, wake up, it's time for your hourly post about Elon Musk/Twitter"

  • whoever holds the rights to your likeness.

    what a gross phrase

  • No one who likes Elon musk is going to visit a community call EnoughElonSpam.

If that was the actual goal, call it MuskNews or something.

  • I used to be a big proponent of Signal.

It was incredibly easy to have friends and family download the app and replace their SMS app with it.

Almost zero change or learning curve on their end, and we all got increased security when we used it.

Telling your parents to download yet another new app to talk to just you is a no-go and sabotaged their goal of increasing security for people at large.
