  • Yeah its really weird. Get Leo's toes out too!

  • The latter reason is why I use Yes WB which is an organic lube pH balanced for the... Mucous membrane.

  • In theory, your toothbrush is getting a clean twice a day. Its already covered in nice sudsy toothpaste foam and you'll (hopefully) be rubbing and rinsing that off.

The plastic disintegrating in your mouth however, yeah, I can't dispute that!

  • I think its likely that goty will go to Helldivers 2 or Black Myth: Wukong, both of which I think are aggressively "OK". Goty awards are largely a popularity contest, after all.

  • I mean, its representing a 3 dimensional object, so a lot of those "areas" are actually volumes which can stack "behind" one another

  • Michael Stevens is definitely up there. He takes a gentle "love your fellow person" approach to things but also teaches so very much.

  • Its a bit peculiar to jump into a thread made by a beehaw user in a beehaw community about beehaw being a nice place to scroll, and say "but we have that too!" Like, yeah, that's awesome, but this person is a beehaw user and is enjoying this aspect of beehaw. And sharing their enjoyment with other beehaw users in the beehaw chat community.

We can praise things without it meaning that other things are worse.

  • I guess different approaches for different people. I spend 90% of my time on All, but only because I'm on beehaw where All isn't terrible

  • The protondb badges plugin in decky is huge for this

  • But by scrolling All on beehaw, I get to see a wide variety of content I might not have known I wanted to see. Beehaw thins out the chaff while still allowing me to have a wider experience than I would scrolling Subscribed.

Sometimes if I feel particularly low in resilience to bullshit, I'll scroll Local or Subscribed, but its nice to have the option to scroll All without it being a cesspool.

  • Here is the reality:

The person is going to use money, whether it is yours or someone else's, to buy whatever it is that they feel is the best use of that money.

Disconnect yourself from any ideas of what the money is going to be used for, and just understand that it will be used to reduce their suffering. If that is a satisfactory use of the money that you give them, then give them the money. Consider, at the same time, putting money aside to donate to local causes, some of whom may be helping the homeless.

Above all though, your money is somewhat valuable, but nowhere near as valuable as your time and effort. Volunteering at these same local causes is even more valuable than whatever spare pocket change.

Just don't turn into a "but they're going to buy drugs with it!" person

  • pat pat pat happy girl!

  • Foxgirls are absolutely valid sorry for this erasure

  • Catgirls are cute and I will pet any who will allow

  • Missing a fursuit or cat ears and a tail plug

  • As long as, even if reddit is using it to train LLM, they are actually still using the descriptions to add accessibility to those images, which I don't take for granted

  • I am missing a small amount of context - is reddit randomly prompting users to describe images in posts? Or is it prompting you to describe your own image at upload time?

Context aside, I definitely think that providing image descriptions is something we should do in spite of the fact that its definitely going to be used to train AI. Choosing to not do so is throwing our blind peers under the bus to reduce the amount of training data for ai fractionally.

  • Idk about that. You can get a fully formed opinion about customer service quality based on 1 interaction, depending on how good or bad that interaction is. My internet has been spotty and below the advertised speed? If the customer service rep gives me helpful answers regarding the probable cause and the likely time to fix, I'm gonna be blown away. If they wave me away and tell me that their engineers will look into it and ask if I'll fill in a survey about my experience which will only take a minute of my time, I'm probably not gonna feel too positive about their cs quality.
