  • For parents and kids, not childless adults.

  • Tor routes through relays, which could be run by digital rights holders or government entities. Presumably they could trace with some effort. VPN is an encrypted connection to some trusted party who is accepting your money. Some VPN providers have policies about keeping no logs of your network traffic. Presumably the VPN provider needs good lawyers to know they can safely discard and ignore all the copyright notices. If the VPN provider did keep logs, and if they were legally compromised in some way, the VPN would no longer be protective.

  • Emby is the premium version of Jellyfin. I have found the meta information works a lot better. I haven’t done much transcoding but it does support it, and there are more apps to access it. Not too happy with the iOS app but the LG WebOS app works great.

  • ISP can’t track bittorrent content without downloading the same torrent as you. They only see domain names of trackers and ip addresses of peers. The content itself is either obfuscated or encrypted.

  • A part-time lecturer makes $3100 for a 3-unit class for the semester. Basically volunteering.

  • Planning to draw? The only way to get better at drawing is to do it, a lot! Every day.

Living at home is probably not a selling point but it’s probably best to be upfront about it, maybe you’ll find a girl who’s living at home too. Better not to waste somebodies time, or your own, if that’s a big deal to somebody.

If I was you I’d describe your ideal date, maybe it’s a long shot, but if it works it’s a slam dunk. So like, where would you eat out, or take out, which video game would you play, movie would you watch, what beer do you want to drink? Or maybe your ideal date is to get donuts and go to a quiet place in nature and read a book?

Anyway by being honest about yourself, and what you’re looking for, you may not be successful but you won’t waste any bodies time (including your own).

  • Do you have roommates? Siblings? How do you get along with them? What kind of friend are you?

Do you have any interesting talents or skills?

What kind of person do you want to meet? Would you date a vegan? What about overweight or obese? Do you want to consume drugs/alcohol together? Do you want to play Portal 2 Co-Op? Do you want to move in and get a dog?

What are you studying? What books and movies do you like most and why? Does Linkin Park help you with suicidal thoughts or make it worse?

  • Some lemmy clients allow filters by word. I have those two names filtered (Memmy app). I still ended up here but this article doesn’t mention those names so, no complaints. Maybe you need filters for Tesla, SpaceX, and X in addition to those I mentioned.

  • Ant man surfing through pressurized water pipes. Would have been a lot more interesting and realistic as a scuba dive.

  • On a private tracker my ISP knows the domain name of my tracker, and, the IP addresses of the peers I downloaded from. They do not know any of the content, unless they join the site AND seed the content in question.

  • VPN provider is just as likely to rat as the private tracker, if it comes down to it. Only VPN I’d truly trust is Njalla. Anyway I’m interested in why a VPN is recommended for a private tracker.

  • The Orville feels like a very good update of TNG at times. They deal with a lot of cultural drama with analogs to our current society. And upping the humor a bit helps.

  • Blasphemy warning…

I’d probably start with Strange New Worlds. Then go back for TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

  • Avos can bruise before they are soft. The bruises go sour before the whole fruit is soft. Most grocery stores absolutely abuse the fruits. Find a store that doesn’t. Look for a single layer, not a pyramid, heap, or pile. Costco keeps them in the flat boxes.

Anyway the restaurants buy them wholesale and they’re cared for in nice flat boxes so they can ripen beautifully.

  • I’m running Emby with 4k content from an Odroid HC-2. If you have a 4k TV it should support the H.265 codec without transcoding so the resources for sending videos is low.

    1. Join a private tracker
    2. Download torrent file
    3. Upload torrent file to qbt web gui, specify a path shared by your Jellyfin library
    4. Use Identify in Jellyfin if the file is not recognized by name
