  • Yes the US has a 10 year agreement where they pay Israel $38 billion to maintain the apartied, and in exchange Israel agrees to switch to more and more US military and arms suppliers.

It's an Obama era deal. That kicked in 2019. Pays out $3.8 billion a year for ten years.

  • Would probably work better if the word wasn't the first in the sentence. Humans probably use the first half of a sentence in their initial assumptions about what it's likely saying... Probably prioritising the first few the most.

  • Privatization does work, it doesn't benefit the common good.

We must advocate the opposite, normalise it as a topic of discussion: Nationalisation. Having the government re-acquire aspects of the common good that have previously been sold off.

After all, if these assets have benefited the private companies, then why can't they benefit the public in some of the same ways.

  • Anyone looping cables around is bad at cable management. You double over, triple over, or quintuple over the cable, then tie the wad in a loose knot of its self. This creates a bundle that doesn't randomly unravel, and can be undone and unwound with much less chances of tangling.

  • Meta also own Instagram and Threads... And you don't have to link those two services either.

...that's a lot more account separation than Google gives you. It's gets some people's phone, email, location, and search history.

  • I don't get the angry comments... Oculus 1 only require an email address, because people didn't want to have to link their oculus account with their Facebook account.

...I don't know about Oculus 2, but the article is saying that Oculus 3 only requires a Meta account... It's not saying it has to be linked to your Facebook account.

Your account will just switch from being with Oculus, to being with Meta... It doesn't say anything about this suddenly linking your Facebook account to your Oculus/Meta account.
