I asked chatGPT 4 with the Dall-E 3 plugin to illustrate my username ("anonymoose"), I didn't give it any other instructions.
These are the prompts it created, you should be able to get similar results on Bing Image Creator:
Illustration of a cartoon moose with a mischievous grin, wearing sunglasses and a hat that says 'Anon'. The moose is striking a relaxed pose, leaning against a tree with one hoof, in a forest setting.
Illustration of a moose in detective attire, complete with a trench coat, fedora, and magnifying glass. The badge on its coat reads 'Anonymoose'. It's inspecting a footprint with a puzzled expression in a woodland setting.
I went ahead and blocked it and spend time on HN along with Lemmy instead. HN discussions on those posts are always so much livelier than those sad, but interesting copycat posts.
I've been using LibreOffice as an MS Office replacement for a decade or so, although most of my documents are still on Google docs. The LibreOffice UI seems to have never really improved at all, and even the updating experience is annoying. I don't understand how such a lucrative productivity app has no developer support behind it?
OpenOffice got me really excited, because that UI seems modern and polished. It's really unfortunate that it's mostly we lb based and apparently really slow.
So yeah, 100% agree with you. LibreOffice with the OpenOffice UI would be 🔥
Agreed, it was an excellent read, especially for somebody that used to be a technological optimist, but is now disillusioned by the state Silicon Valley has left us in.
Does anyone know what the main blockers are?
